BYU Coach Judkins Calling Out the Gamecocks

Looking forward to their matchups against Gonzaga (2/5 and 2/19). BYU has been destroying WCC opponents for the most part. Those 2 are clearly the top of the conference.
 
BYU won today against San Francisco, 99-58.

Please remind them that the SC they beat is Santa Clara and not South Carolina. Charlie has them as a 5 seed. If they drop to an 8, Judkins should ask the NCAA to send them to Columbia so they can get their wish.

Did he state in the article that he thought his team had already beaten South Carolina? I must have missed that part.

What if "anyone"(SC) plays at their best? He should have just left it at "anyone" instead of calling out a specific team when you know you don't have to play that team. That being said we do have some sensitive fans on twitter. There is nothing wrong with a little needling. Hopefully they don't take it too far.

+1. How is this a news story at all? He named the top team in the country as one he thinks his team could beat. He's trying to drum up enough attention so his team is not overlooked for Top 4 seed consideration (which includes the right to host). I'm extremely confused that anyone reads that and thinks the coach is being too arrogant.

What can they do? Other than Gonzaga, the rest of the WCC is pretty weak. They have 2 games w/ GU in February.
 
They must have accidentally played Pacific's game............

But Coach Judkins was right: if BYU plays winning basketball, they will win out every time.......

It's not really a terrible loss. Portland's only losses this entire season have been to Stanford, Oregon and Gonzaga. But yeah, it definitely hurts any chances BYU had of hosting the first weekend.
 
He better hope the committee does not remember those comments and place him in the Cocks region LOL Portland is a far cry from South Carolina Coach

Portland is currently #56 in the NET (was #63 prior to last night).

For comparison, Tennessee got blown out by #54 in the NET (was #62 prior to game) and previously lost to now #95 (previously triple digits).

In other words they've lost to just about every relevant they've played.

Their best win is BYU whose big crowning accomplishment is beating a mediocre high major in Utah.

Maybe you need to sit down for awhile.
