Please remind them that the SC they beat is Santa Clara and not South Carolina. Charlie has them as a 5 seed. If they drop to an 8, Judkins should ask the NCAA to send them to Columbia so they can get their wish.

This is not stirring the pot he's just saying his team is playing really well and if they play at their best he thinks they could beat anyone. He only mentioned South Carolina because they are #1 but he was already implying they could beat anyone with that big qualifier IF. South Carolina fans stop being so sensitive I already see people calling the coach out on Twitter.

What if "anyone"(SC) plays at their best? He should have just left it at "anyone" instead of calling out a specific team when you know you don't have to play that team. That being said we do have some sensitive fans on twitter. There is nothing wrong with a little needling. Hopefully they don't take it too far.

+1. How is this a news story at all? He named the top team in the country as one he thinks his team could beat. He's trying to drum up enough attention so his team is not overlooked for Top 4 seed consideration (which includes the right to host). I'm extremely confused that anyone reads that and thinks the coach is being too arrogant.

It's not really a terrible loss. Portland's only losses this entire season have been to Stanford, Oregon and Gonzaga. But yeah, it definitely hurts any chances BYU had of hosting the first weekend.
