Yes. it's of interest to us in understanding cultural differences among boards. We've had off-board discussions with visitors as recently as a few days ago to the effect that, when coming here after mostly posting on a board with a different demographic, they may notice adverse reactions to the way they talk about players and to other posters.
how so?

I was the remote; my dad would throw his slipper at me sitting on the floor, and I would get up and change the channel. I also became proficient at holding the rabbit ears in a certain position for better reception. We got very good watching stations through the "snow"!

I remember when you had to get up off the couch to change the TV stations.
I remember how I had to get up and change the channel. I do not recall seeing my Dad doing that. I guess he was in the right age group.

.-.
I put a poll up on the General WBB board. The posters there are skewing younger

And then there is the Beach Boys song "When I Grow Up to be a Man." I never used to think about the fact that I am well past the age where the chorus ends on the fade out...
Do you know what it’s like to realize that any chance to play major league sports ended over 50 years ago?

I also remember passing the salt shaker to him that was right in front of him at dinner table. ;)

"One should never ask a grown lady how old she is."

Mỹ mother's worđs to me when I as an 8 year old asked her àge.

.-.
So I tried to vote today and it wouldn't let me. It took me a few minutes to remember that I had tried yesterday as well without success. A few minutes later a light bulb flashed and I remember that I voted the day before, but I still can't remember who I voted for!

When does the winner get announced anyway?

Not quite sure, but I do know that my hair shirt is falling out and it's a lot easier to brush one tooth now that the other one fell out. If rings are any clue, a cross section of my big-toe nail reveals that I was a contemporary of Buffalo Bill and an old photo suggests I may have attended a Civil War veterans picnic.

My age used to be listed under my handle...I had it removed.
But, if i become senior statesmen, I'll put it back.
A few ahead of me...82 in July...
Still shooting hoops for a half-hour daily.
Fully expect to get to the next level, but who knows.
75 in July. But polled under 74.

You should have known that...... notice that most of the posting on this board slows down a bit between 4pm and 6pm... and almost completely ceases to exist after 9pm. ;)
The other board also didnt declare the end of civilization after a coach used a naugh-ty word.

Won't explore this extensively, but to take one example a younger crowd arguably tends to criticize individual players in harsher (or more mocking, etc.) terms than some older people (call them more protective, or more quasi-parental if you will) are comfortable with.
interesting. wonder what is going on.

FWIW, kate starbird, from stanford & a naismith (i believe) winner, is at univ of washington doing research on social media and its impacts on culture --some of it pretty dire -- the spred of disinformation and its effect, etc. ... so there's another wbb star who's making contributions after she's left the game behind.

Not that I disagree, but people have been predicting the end of civilization since the dawn of civilization.

I'm represented somewhere in this cast..
⛹️‍♀️ 🤸‍♀️
Just don't ask, when was the last time I made love... "October 4th, 1978" LOL

Seventy was the most bizarre birthday you tell yourself this can’t possibly be . I still haven’t decided what I’m going to be when I grow up.
The only one that bothered me before that was 35.
My Dad was 30 when I was born and I have vivid memories of his 35th birthday party and as a 5 year old trying to comprehend how someone could be that old. When I hit that age those memories returned.
Yea 35 was the worst. At 35, 15 years prior you were 20. 15 year in the future, you're 50. It sucked bad.

I don't know if this has been stated earlier but, old age is much, much better than the alternative. ;)
high quality GIF

What experience do you have that led to this conclusion? Please give examples as evidence. ;)
People who have experienced the alternative no longer have the opportunity to post on this marvelous message board, the great Boneyard. None of the ones I contacted gave me a response.;) Believe me, I am glad of that.
