As much as I want Mullins, and with all the boneyard endless ink speculating on his choices, now that Adams has committed there is only 1 guard opening left in this class and Lewis and Mullins both in the home stretch. Oops. Watch Furphy pull the trigger on his visit this weekend and make the decisions by default. Wouldn't that be an out of the blue result. (and probably cheaper)

The Aussie kid would be an excellent addition. Tons of skill and IQ. Lefty Cam.

It’s like finding a house you really love but extending your search to find one that is perfect and maybe $10,000 cheaper. If it feels like home and you love it, sometimes it makes sense to pull the trigger then. Or finding out a person likes you but you play it coy or hard to get to find a “10”. The bird in hand approach can work both ways.

With Adams and Mullins, DH would presumably run last years three guard offense.
He would also have Nowell, Ball, Mahaney.
Last year he played the big three 33 min, Hass 19, and dropped Ball from the rotation.
So nobody's guaranteed, it's a competition--they must be mullin' this over in Indiana.

That would make it tough for UConn though, no? Our starting backcourt as of today will be senior Mahaney and junior Solo Ball. No way Hurley is promising Mullins a starting spot therr, while IU can offer him the keys to the car?
Hurley has said he sees Mullins as a 1 & done & Hurley doesn’t really preach that to kids so I’m sure he has a plan in place for Mullins … & Mullins doesn’t mention player development from any of the other schools except UConn so he see the light sorts speak

This could be wishful thinking, but Adams said that they were bringing in 2 people in his spot. Maybe Hurley sees Adams/Mullins as SG/Wings and then Acaden as a PG so all three could happen ;)

IU fans already throwing in towel and saying it is over. We shall see…..
Interesting. Throwing in the towel thinking it's us, or do they think UNC is still in it as well?

If UConn gets Adams, Mullins, and Reibe - it would seem that Connecticut would officially revoke Indiana’s BB status. Head-to-head three times in one recruiting season would be insane and demoralizing.

Did Indiana recruit Adams? Didn't think they did but maybe they were in the mix early on in the process.

Bundalo says hello
I feel Bundalo is a better traditional fit for the class with Adams and potentially Reibe. But Mullins is a talented fired up sharp shooter that with Adams, Nowell, Mahaney, offers a different G that could light you up in no time. I would be curious what our view on replacing Alex would be at the 4 for 2025. I love what Abraham has to offer, maybe the line up looks like

Nowell+Mahaney+Stewart+Reibe+Reed with Adams, Mullins, and Abraham first off the bench for 1,2, and 4

If we get two out of the three kids (Mullins, Reibe, Bundalo) it will be an embarrassment of riches

With two other options lined up and Mullins done with the IU visit, is there a chance they are going to give him a now or never proposition?

Bundalo to replace Alex at the 4 and all 4 of Adams, Mullins, Bundalo, Reibe would fit perfectly here.

I get the impression that the Mullins family understands basketball. It appears this understanding is playing perfectly into Danny’s and Luke’s strength. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Demonstrate how Braylon will fit in this office. Preach development and anyone who understands this game and has the opportunity to play for this staff must be melting w every sit down and steak dinner.

On my honeymoon finally had some time to peel into numbers and I was of the mindset like “ok what does Mullins see in IU” and wow I was even more unimpressed than I thought I’d be

Usually I pull my punches but I said screw I’m slamming Woodson. This dude just sucks… should be back to my old self posting more often this season

What about Ball, Ross and Singare?

Singare is a devepment piece that I'm not sure when and how much he'll contribute.

Ross seems to be developing into a player which might begin to carve out some minutes this season.

There's been a lot of talk about Ball being a major contributor this upcoming season.

We know that Diarra and Samson are in their last season of eligibility.

We can assume Alex will enter the draft as a likely first round pick.

All indications are that McNeeley will likely enter the draft as a lottery pick hopeful.

UConn has just 12 scholarship players, which means they have 2 more open slots next season with rosters being expanded to 14.

We don't know who else might elevate their game this season enough to enter the draft and who might decide to enter the portal...no speculations please, nor do I have any.

Ship wise, UConn had enough to take Adams (CG) , Mullins (CG), Bundalo (4/5 Combo), Reibe (Stretch-5) and Lewis (1 with combo skills).

Now that would create a ton of competition next season. All of those recruits each add unique skills and styles of play that would certainly help UConn continue to stay on top. Adams is an excellent off the ball motion mover/scorer (Rip type player). Mullins adds similar skills as Adams but is bigger and stronger (Cam type player). Lewis has more 1-skills than those two, who can distribute and keep his dribble active to create his own scoring opportunities especially when the clock is running down (sort of a Newton/Castle-light skill set.). Bundalo is an Alex type 4 who has the size to defend the 4 or even 5 if needed plus has some wing skills. Lastly Reibe would give us some Clingan skills but with more advanced jumpshot skill out to 3 though needs to develop his post skills.

What's scary about this collection of recruits is they can all knock down 3s, which is crazy to think that we have a shot at landing some or most of these players.

My guess is we land 2 of the 3 guards, though I would like to land all of them since each one gives us something a little different than the other that all fit Hurley's culture and system. As for the two bigs, they clearly fill two spots that will open up due to players that will be moving on.

Whatever need the staff doesn't fill with one of these or some other heralded recruits, will be filled via the portal. I'm excited to see who we end up with by the early signing period.
