according to a NCAA WBB Tweet

IF the 7 PM slot is replaced by a Men's Tournament show, then the Early Release was not accidental.

This is the finals week in the UC system for the winter quarter.
Only Berkeley is on the semester system and they are not affected.
How do the other UC teams - in particular UCLA - handle this?

Looks like ESPN made a mistake and accidentally released them early. If they are accurate UConn's draw is brutal and they are not a #1 seed.

Remember when @UcMiami mentioned "UCONN fatigue" in ESPN selection of the 10 players AA team? This draw if correct is yet another example!

Wow, what a world class screw up.

...and Louisville over us as a one seed? I guess the head to head was the deciding factor.

OK, so UConn is a #2 in Albany. The only difference is that they play MD rather than OR St assuming those teams actually make it to the 3rd round. Here’s a spoiler alert. Louisville will have a tough battle to get by Or St.

Albany:
  1. Louisville
  2. UCONN
  3. Maryland
  4. Oregon State
Just wow. Tough bracket...

In a perverse way, Eric, the thought of playing really good teams in a row (if we survive) heightens the excitement. Much more satisfying to beat the best than to just skim through. On the other hand, . . .
(Baylor has the easy ride this time, but that's the team to beat in the end.)

It's not the seeding that's the problem. It's the path UConn is staring at. The path would be the same if UConn and Louisville's seed numbers were flipped.

Well committee just said it was strength ofschedule and strength of conference that pit Uconn to 2 seed

Yes that’s my point. UConn was not going to be the overall #1 and get Iowa. We were going to be in a bracket with one other really good team. I’ll take my chances with Louisville in Albany any day over any other potential team we could have faced.

By the way, the last time Louisville came to Albany, they were a #2 seed back in 2015, and everyone assumed that they would be UConn’s opponent in the Regional Final. Everyone except mid-major Dayton who beat them in the Sweet 16.

She also mentioned "Down the stretch" which is really BS in regard to UCONN. If "Down the stretch" is a big deal why is TENN in?
Remember...it only applies when it justifies their pick....besides, it’s tough to get rid of a “legacy system”

Te selection committee is known to do this type of ranking.

ESPN is a poor excuse for television journalism.

However, you have to win 4 in row to get to the finals.

It's this garbage conference we're in. We had zero bad losses and smoked one of the teams that's a 1-seed on their home court.

Keeping Oregon and UConn in their regions is why the 2 seeds are off. The chairperson of the committee said that UConn is the top 2-seed, but Oregon is holding that place. I was looking forward to the potential MsST-UConn and Lou-Ore matchups.

NCAA/ESPN just posted an apology for mistakenly releasing brackets early. Hey, we're used to ESPN screwing things up so what else is new? Just wait until they screw up the so called "whip-around" overage like they usually do. Shouldn't happen with all the internet feeds available but they will find a way.
