Pretty sure one more 5 win team has to lose and then we clinch. Think people are jumping the gun lol but hope I’m wrong
Although the App st/GSO game has me confused so maybe we have clinched since only 1 will be eligible. App st is being counted as eligible but probably isn’t yet so we may be good

This math doesn’t make sense pretty sure it’s 7 teams still alive
The teams still alive for full bowl eligibility (6 wins, only 1 of which was against an FCS opponent):
Buffalo
Southern Miss
App State OR Georgia Southern
Vanderbilt
Miami

Teams who could get 6 wins but 2 of them would be against FCS opponents (only 1 FCS win counts towards bowl eligiblity):
Army
New Mexico State

Isn’t app State playing for bowl eligibility too? They had a game cancelled I think

MSU is 3rd on the APR list behind Rice and Auburn. Hope they make it so my son can go to a bowl game. He missed out at Northwestern last year also. Sucks to be on two teams that were ranked at the beginning of the season and not go bowling.

Maybe the 77 includes Appalachian State/Georgia Southern since someone has to win? And then the 5 are Miami, Vanderbilt, Buffalo, UL, USM

They play again next week against FBS Akron

Ok so as of last week there were 73.

This week:

Missouri
Miami (OH)
App State / Ga Southern
Louisiana
Southern Miss
UAB

So that's 79

Vandy playing tonight
Miami playing tonight
Buffalo playing next week

That's 82 - if they all win.

Yes there are 82 slots. All could still be accounted for with 6 win teams. We are in one of the 82 slots.

This is correct; as long as NMST doesnt schedule a FBS opponent to make up for the San Jose State postponement, UConn will worst case be one of only 82 teams at legit 6-6 or better...

And the only teams they could schedule a make up game with are San Jose St (the cancelled game) or anybody who has played @ Hawaii and didn't take the 13th game (Vandy, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah St, UNLV)? If UNLV or Vandy are sitting on 5 wins after tonight, that might become an interesting opportunity - winner makes a bowl game.

Keep in mind NMSU is an independent, so if you're a bowl committee, do you want them or UConn?

Miami and Vandy looking helpless in their games right now. Should give even more clearance for us in the event NMSU finds an FBS opponent.
