I’m a little worried this looks like suicidal behavior. Crossfaded, gun, rams into police officers. Obviously can’t assume, but hopefully this is the final step he needs towards turning it around. He hasn’t done anything irredeemable.

i have a relative who is a lawyer and a big uconn fan. here is what he said about bouk blowing 0.14:

"Interesting. In a 200 pound man 0.08 which is the Connecticut limit is maybe 3 standard drinks in an hour—2 you’re OK, 3 you’re on the line, 4 you’re over. I think it is linear so to get to 0.14 maybe you need 5 or 6. 0.14 is quite drunk. The old DUI limit in Connecticut was 0.15, but I am feeling there may have been something else involved if he was so smashed they couldn’t wake him."

Why does your friend being a lawyer give him some special knowledge on this? Is he one of the trashy DUI specialist lawyers? Lol

I think about dumb stuff I did when I was younger - nothing this dumb - and I'm eternally grateful I made it through young adulthood in one piece and not having done serious damage to myself or others. These days anything over one nursed drink and my wife gets the keys. And sometimes even then if I'm tired/haven't eaten.

Few more thoughts:

Where the heck was his care taker Tripp Doherty?

Bouk had the best possible situation, a new friendly coach and a talent depleted team trying to tank around him. He would have gotten all the run he wanted.

Still not sure if he makes it out of this. Always concerning when the organization puts out remarks like “we’re reviewing the situation”.

The guy is an absolute trainwreck. And how do you get thrown out of a UConn home game? (I'm still disappointed on our fans backing him). He's been treated like a God and thinks he is.

He’s…active for tonight’s game??
I saw someone speculate that this could be so that when he ultimately doesn't play, it'll go down as a DNP-CD. Could mean the coach is trying to send a message somehow. I'd be shocked if he sees the court. Guess we'll see shortly though

Security would have noticed quickly that there's a car blocking access to their garage. Alcohol takes a while to metabolize and stays in your system a long time. A .14 for him would probably be around 6 standard drinks. People handle booze differently but it would be shocking to me if it was just booze in his system. That doesn't add up.

It takes as little as 10 minutes for alcohol to enter bloodstream. His body should be processing about one drink (.02) an hour.
Even if he did his last shot as he was walking out the club door, by the time he got to the car, that shot has been absorbed.
If there was an alert parking garage attendant who quickly noticed situation and called cops, that's a few more minutes and then one hour of cops trying to wake him up. Add in the time of getting him out of his car and in to cop car and then the time to administer test........
Book was close to a .18-.20 when he got in the car.

I'm shocked by that. He shouldn't be anywhere near a basketball court right now. Kid has serious issues and is going to end up dead or in prison without a professional intervention.

The NBA, along with the rest of society, talks a good game about mental health but never seems to register these things unless it's spelled out for them.

Not passing judgment but I am confident his status is determined by collective bargaining agreement.

So, passing out in your car and not driving it until you perhaps wake up hours later when you straighten out now qualifies as a DUI? Am I missing something? Please correct me if I am.

No, I am saying he was totally wasted and was way above a .14 when he got in the car. By the time cops showed up, were able to get him alert and out of his car and then had him blow in the tube he had time to process some of that booze.

Bouk is so lucky this was in open permitless carry N.C. and not CT or NY.

Also, Hornets up 20!? Bouk is in! Great sign he’s playing.

Not sure what you are reading but he was in the car, in the driver's seat. At some point he actually put car in drive and then hit two police cars. Then he blew a .14. He was clearly drunk.

Yeah he was the 10th man in, but they played him.

No. I think you’re good unless upon waking, you drive into a police car. In that case all bets are off.

No clue what actually happened, and having been a young knucklehead myself, not making any judgements, but from what’s been reported, it’s hard to see how that’s what you’ve concluded.

Bouk gettin good run with the starters. Shot looked great but didn’t fall. Looks more confident in his shot going right up instead of hesitating.

Doug Mcdermott might be the most well coached basketball player I have ever seen. Never makes mistakes.

Bouknight with a nice assist.

I don't have a problem with the designation (I read that Clifford wants to list him as active so that the DNP sends a stronger message - frankly, I don't think the organization's role in the matter should be to discipline him at this point, anyways.)

My issue is that so many people - including Clifford, apparently - seem to be content filing this under the category of immaturity or young people being stupid, as if it's something that can be solved with some tough love and a DNP. It's the complete wrong lens.

Edit: I guess he did play.
