In CT, that's almost twice the legal limit. About 8 drinks. He blew a .14, obviously over the limit to drive but that's not crazy high or anything. None of his actions match up to that BAC. I'm guessing he was on other stuff or he's totally lost his mind.
I don't like to bring up things I've heard, but I have heard several scary Bouknight stories that all involve alcohol. I haven't ever heard about hard drugs....but I don't know.100% this. This story does not match up with "four shots of tequila." It's lean, or a narcotic, or who knows what.
Get this kid some help if you can, NBA...

How is a car running and in drive for over an hour with someone passed out in the driver's seat not moving? Something doesn't add up.
Know a few people this has happened to. Not impossible and a tricky situation to get the car in park without waking/startling them and having them hit the gasHow is a car running and in drive for over an hour with someone passed out in the driver's seat not moving? Something doesn't add up.
Please enlighten me...Well, for one thing, your understanding of the facts doesn't add up.
i have a relative who is a lawyer and a big uconn fan. here is what he said about bouk blowing 0.14:
"Interesting. In a 200 pound man 0.08 which is the Connecticut limit is maybe 3 standard drinks in an hour—2 you’re OK, 3 you’re on the line, 4 you’re over. I think it is linear so to get to 0.14 maybe you need 5 or 6. 0.14 is quite drunk. The old DUI limit in Connecticut was 0.15, but I am feeling there may have been something else involved if he was so smashed they couldn’t wake him."
SweetHe’s…active for tonight’s game??
I saw someone speculate that this could be so that when he ultimately doesn't play, it'll go down as a DNP-CD. Could mean the coach is trying to send a message somehow. I'd be shocked if he sees the court. Guess we'll see shortly thoughHe’s…active for tonight’s game??
Security would have noticed quickly that there's a car blocking access to their garage. Alcohol takes a while to metabolize and stays in your system a long time. A .14 for him would probably be around 6 standard drinks. People handle booze differently but it would be shocking to me if it was just booze in his system. That doesn't add up.
He’s…active for tonight’s game??
I'm shocked by that. He shouldn't be anywhere near a basketball court right now. Kid has serious issues and is going to end up dead or in prison without a professional intervention.
The NBA, along with the rest of society, talks a good game about mental health but never seems to register these things unless it's spelled out for them.
So, passing out in your car and not driving it until you perhaps wake up hours later when you straighten out now qualifies as a DUI? Am I missing something? Please correct me if I am.It takes as little as 10 minutes for alcohol to enter bloodstream. His body should be processing about one drink (.02) an hour.
Even if he did his last shot as he was walking out the club door, by the time he got to the car, that shot has been absorbed.
If there was an alert parking garage attendant who quickly noticed situation and called cops, that's a few more minutes and then one hour of cops trying to wake him up. Add in the time of getting him out of his car and in to cop car and then the time to administer test........
Book was close to a .18-.20 when he got in the car.
