Just watched the 2011 Big East final victory over Lville again and Bazz was notably quicker then which contributed to his great on-the-ball defense.
With the off-season foot surgery, I think he has never fully got back into condition.
At 100% fitness, his improved quickness would make hima much better draft candidate...another reason to come back!

What cash? It's not guaranteed.

These scouts are telling it how it is. All three need to stay if they have an honest shot of making it into the NBA. Or else, I have a feeling their talent will fester in the D-league.
"You have a potential pro contract but you need cash now, call J.G. Wentworth, 877-CASH-NOW, 877-CASH-NOW!!!"

we're going back in time now, but I think he moved KF to the 3 because that would be his position at the next level
Yeah he did it both to benefit Freeman and because we had a logjam in the front court. It didn't work out so well, but it was defensible.

I expect Boat to be much better next year, but you're going to have to point out these intangibles and leadership qualites he showed because I didn't see them. The poor body language and hanging of the head after turnovers and missed shots certainly don't qualify. As for his leadership abilites, I think DeAndre said it best after the USF game when he said that they were missing their leader(Bazz).

I consider boatright someone I would want in a foxhole, if he's fighting for what I want. That's an intangible. Oh and he doesnt seem injury prone. very rough cut and gets into the opponents heads. Just who he is. IM not saying he is a freaking bonafide leader, I'm saying he's shown relatively the same amount of flashes as sophomore kemba. It's about channeling his ability, something kemba did quite well.

Truly, sophomore Kemba (esp. in the second half) was the true leader of the team, taking it away from the dope that Jerome Dyson was. At the very least, we could argue this point.

I have a hard time finding anyone being able to argue that fact that Boat was the leader over Bazz...

This was one move where I think JC clearly erred in judgment by putting a player before the team. Freeman was clearly our best 4 and should have never been moved to the 3. The team just never really clicked the way you'd expect it to, especially with so many holdovers from a NC team. I suspect that will go down as one of the moves JC would like to have back if he could do it all over again. That and placating a one and done freshman by benching a starter on another NC team. I think Andre was a good enough kid that he would have accepted coming off the bench last year but once he started him there was no turning back. Mumu would have remained engaged all year and things could have turned out significantly better.

So what is boatright ? An undersized AVERAGE scorer? whose also a ball hog? TAKES HORRENDOUS shots? Never plays defense? That was a ghost guarding MCW?!? Picking him up full court?
I can't even argue because apparantly stats mean nothing on this board. just narratives

What is this "true leader" talk . when exactly did he display this. In all the amazing wins?

Boat can be exceptional and another year under KO and Hobbs will do the trick if he listens. At his size his NBA future, if there is to be one is only at the point.

Good point James. I forgot to add s0me support for Boat in my last post regarding his ability to distribute the ball. We've seen instances where Boat was able to penetrate and make some beautiful passes to teammates either cutting to the rim or camped out behind the 3 point line. This has happened though when he's been paired up with Bazz and able to get some space off the ball. When he's forced to be the true PG up at the top of the key, the outcome has generally been less than desirable. 5 assists per game though aren't a fluke so I still hold out hope that with more seasoning, Boat will develop into the true PG he needs to be to have any chance in the NBA.

In the games without Bazz this year he has 6 assists, 8 TOs. He is 7-26 from the field and 1-10 from 3.

Is this stat brought up to beat the imaginary horse that I claimed boat is the bonafide leader? ? Or is it saying Napier makes him good and kemba had nobody? so he's doomed.

It's hard to really flourish when youre basically the only guard on the roster. when Napier was injured. he wasn't ready for that. I agree there

Boat and Daniels are coming off their first full year. Boat missed 1/2 of last year because of NCAA and Daniels barely saw the floor once BE games started in 2012....they NEED at least another year of college, for them this is a conversation for next April.

Bazz would really benefit from another year as well...if he returns UConn will be ranked probably in top 15 to start the year, he will be pre-season conference and maybe national POY candidate and UConn will have plenty of exposure on ESPN/CBS to boost his stock if he plays well. If he leaves now maybe a 2nd rounder, a good year next and 1st round is very possible.
