Hope you're right Dan. We have to hope the Maryland exit fee situation get resolved sooner rather than later. If things drag out for a year, and the football team doesn't make a bowl again next season, who would we be able to hire to replace PP with an uncertain conference future?

new litter box and maybe some yarn?
Maybe even splurge and reverse the nuttering (is that how you spell it? i wanted to put a silent k on there and don't know why...)

One would hope we are pooling the exit fees at this point and make a last ditch effort at a mega coaching hire on a 4-year contract (assuming the conference situation isn't worked out by then).

Just stop with the hope that anyone is saving UConn. Every school in the Northeast is smiling knowing that UConn will be crippled and probably go away and allow teams like Cuse, BC, and others to keep recruits away in all sports from UConn. The reality is that we're going to joint C-USA along with the remaining teams that were already joining from C-USA plus USF and Cincy.

This move just solidifies the realization that the BE is dead. There is no tv contract to be had due to uncertainty of teams leaving. Therefor joining C-USA and hoping to rework their tv deal now that they have UConn and Cincy is the realty we face.

Does Boise even play in the BE next year or will we likely see the BE dissolve first? Same with SDSU when they follow with their own announcement

Mountain West will be 11-team league in Aug. 2013 but has been in contact with several schools, including #SDSU, commish Craig Thompson said

Boise State's exit fee from the Big East is not $10 million. The exit fee is $5 million with provisions that could make it less.

yea they will pay 5mil max, maybe 3

how about we just speed this all up to 2moro hugh?

Can we cut out with this celebrating the exit fees crap? That's the sort of thing C7 schools do.

I want the teams. Not the money.

Andy Katz: amen.

If MWC decides to take SDSU back, it would have teams I'd rather watch (UNLV, SDSU, UNM, CSU, USU)over 7 leaving BE. I may not be alone.

Well ... PROTECT our Hoop. Somehow ... we need to playing that Loop of teams too.

I agree nobody is coming to our rescue, but why not fight for the Big East brand instead of joining CUSA?

Because there is no brand left to protect other than our own.

Watch the MWC screw SDSU and exclude them and grab Cincy, SMU (or Tulsa) and Houston instead to go to 14 as payback.

Football should go independent and offer 2-1 games with real teams where the one Uconn home game is in NYC or gilette/Boston. Fill in four other home games vs Umass and MAC teams. That is far more enticing as a fan than seeing whatever is left of the nnnmbe. 90 percent of Uconn fans would prefer to see hoops salvaged than worry about a garbage football program

i love the crowd that think every time there is a move that its the last one. u guys stop dreaming about the b10 and acc and lalala. the b10 is staying at 12...i mean 14 and the sec is staying at 14 now to and the acc will never add again and la alalalalala. were screwed and thats it. were going to be playing bball vs tulane and horse shoes vs memphis. screwed!

lol go yourselves. were going to the b10 and if we get picked over by them were going to slide into a acc slot. enjoy having to root for uconn in a gogg conf vs getting to be tough guy here about the sunbelt 3.5 all the time. wutang!

.-.
We couldn't go independent. We would NEVER fill the schedule of 12 games. Once conf. games start in Oct. no one wants to play OCC games.

I know that a lot of this may have been out of aresco's control, but can we seem him do ONE thing that makes us think it was a good thing we brought him into the fold? JUST ONE THING?????

And no, I'm not talking about tulane
The BE is an albotross and we have complained about every BE commissioner. It makes me think that it doesn't make any difference who the commissioner is. You can't put spats on a pig.

The TV rights to Boise State's home football games will NOT be part of MW's TV deals. Will be sold in separate package.

Boise is way too big for its britches.

.-.
I just think its the only option.

Why would CUSA or MWC schools join this? Why?

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what you're talking about.

The best of the CUSA has already joined the Big East!!!!

and how does joining CUSA protect our brand?

The reality is that there's no brand left to protect. The only options are to add more C-USA schools. So what's the difference if we bring them into whatever conference we're "creating" or if we join them. To be honest, the only way I see this conference landing a TV deal is by joining a conference with a pre-existing one. No one wants to touch the NNNNBE because UConn and Cincy will jump at anything and they are the only reasons to offer a semi-decent tv deal. Boise leaving shows that there is no TV deal in the works and that if the MWC deal, plus whatever their own tv deal is, is better, than there's nothing left for UConn.....

Enough with the bullshit that UConn hoops can be salvaged without the football program. Do you want to know the last time a non-BCS school won the title? 23 years ago. And the gulf has only been widening. If you want bball you need football. Period.

I would rather see us join the MAC for football only and keep our basketball with the C7 version of the Big East, at least the basketball schedule will be good.

UCONN needs to be in the Big East, either we fight the C7 for the name or we join them.

I just think its the only option.
