I'd rather have him go to Kentucky than MSU.

Yeah, my first thought when I saw Rutgers was 'one of these things is not like the other.'

Well their one advantage is that they can probably offer that he can come in and play 40 mins a game as a freshman, against big ten competition. Honestly the stacked UConn backcourt situation can't look too appealing to him and is probably the biggest thing counting against us right now.

Very true but I think with Jackson leaving, look for UCONN to play a lot of 3 guard lineups with Larrier at the 4. So there is playing time out there.

This. UConn would have 3 guys competing for the PG spot (AG, MAL, Harris). 4 guys if UConn lands Joel Ayayi, but I assume it's either this kid or Ayayi.

To think that we could have a backcourt of Jalen Adams, Alterique Gilbert, Makai Ashton-Langford, Christian Vital and Blake Harris is crazy. Play 3 of those guys at the same time. Not that much size, but the penetration ability of our 1-3 would be wild.

Also, Harris is way under-rated methinks.

If Ollie commits to a 3 guard lineup all game, there is room for those 5 guards to play 28 minutes each. Maybe we can press all game to justify it :p

I bet Enoch wasn't lying when he said the offense is too guard oriented for a player with his skill set. We're gonna have to start recruiting better versions of brimah if we plan on rolling 3 pgs out at all times.

Nah, just a guy who is competent enough to play both ways. That's truly all they need. Brimah could only defend. Steve could only play on O (and not even very well at that).

Look, if you're good enough, you'll get more touches and more opportunities. A la Daniels. Ollie wants to play inside out. Personnel just made it impossible the last couple years.

I can only think of one reason why.

Because we only have 4 on the roster. That's not enough. One of those four will likely be turning pro in a year. Another has an injury history. We need at least one more guard for 2017 and then a second for 2018.

You can't afford to be short of guards. If you are short of big men you can play Villanova small ball. If you are short of guards you lose.

A player with his skill set? He had two full seasons and he hardly ever showed he belonged on the court at this level. Some of that may have been coaching but it shouldn't take a player 2 seasons to show an understanding of basic basketball concepts. I like the kid but more often than not he was lost on where to be and what to do.
