I don't remember Halaifonua at all against the Huskies. Just looked up the boxscores and he had 2 points the first game and 4 points the second game. Hopefully he blew his wad tonight.
Not a snowballs chance in hell he would’ve saw the court here. It took Cooley taking a chance on him mid season randomly for him to even start breaking out now.
English talked about it in his press conference after the game with Vaaks sitting next to him.How long before PC announces English is gone? Before the bus reaches Providence? Some time later today after the bus stops in Providence? First thing tomorrow morning? The announcement has already been written so you know it's not going past then.
He did his job tonight defensively. Sometimes guys just play a role really well and that’s what he brings to Georgetown. He was a big part in keeping Lewis in check and I assume he’ll probably get assigned Mullins/Ball. Whichever player they feel like needs the assignment the most.Abraham is the most impressive looking non impressive basketball player in the BE. He plays so mechanical.
Gtown could be very good next year if they can get Lewis back. I’d move off Mack even though he has a year left.
When UConn is on defense they are going to have to "draw a line" and guard with attitude. I can see Cooley having his players hunt for mismatches and play 1-on-1. The other thing Georgetown did really well tonight, and I can see Cooley doing a lot tomorrow, is the pick and roll and pick and pop with either Jeremiah Williams or Caleb Williams with Julius Halifinua. Julius was hitting that 10-15 foot shot with high efficiency. He did his job tonight defensively. Sometimes guys just play a role really well and that’s what he brings to Georgetown. Him and Mulready being on the court together can cause a lot of trouble for those two potentially. If they have the guts to go with JWill, Mulready, and Abraham together over stretches they match up well defensively with our perimeter group.
It’s honestly something he could’ve been doing all year but he just never took the shot. He has beautiful mechanics on his jumpshot. When UConn is on defense they are going to have to "draw a line" and guard with attitude. For what it's worth, Georgetown has pulled this off before. In 2021 an even worse Georgetown team won the BET.Whoa. Didn’t expect to see that when I woke up today.
Bring on Georgetown. I wish we had Nova, but GTown will be playing loosely and freely. Have to look past their seed and come ready to play and win
Tough call - UConn - StJ in the rubber match @ MSG sets a really nice stage. For what it's worth, Georgetown has pulled this off before. In 2021 an even worse Georgetown team won the BET.
If UConn isn't going to win the BET, I don't want St. Johns to win it. I want a 4th bid for the league. Looking at their results, most of their losses were in close games. Have one really good win over Clemson, but that's about it.
I agree he never would have played here, but let's not act like Ed Cooley was taking some shot in the dark on playing him. He was a 4* top 70 recruitNot a snowballs chance in hell he would’ve saw the court here. It took Cooley taking a chance on him mid season randomly for him to even start breaking out now.
Bah, I hate St. Johns. I'm rooting for Seton Hall.Tough call - UConn - StJ in the rubber match @ MSG sets a really nice stage.
Sports = entertainment. Getting SHU in as an 11 seed play-in really isn't changing the world.
Ranked higher than Abraham......Georgetown out rebounded DePaul 40 to 25 and just annihilated Nova 42 to 19. Held both teams under 38% shooting.
Played you tough twice already.
Better Bring the A game……
You just brought up bad memories. I remember that tournament. We went ice cold and blew it against Creighton. Creighton then got absolutely dog walked by Georgetown. That should have been our championshipFor what it's worth, Georgetown has pulled this off before. In 2021 an even worse Georgetown team won the BET.

They get 4,000 people to a home game. And I wonder how many Hall/SJU fans will stick around after their game to root against us. I would imagine the winning fans will head out to celebrate and that should be a sizeable chunk of the crowd.Pack the garden tonight. Last night was late arriving but a good UConn crowd. Georgetown had NOBODY.
If you don’t have tickets already just find a Villanova fan.
He started off the year on the bench and if it wasn’t for DHS taking a leave of absence and Langston Love battling an injury he may have not played at all.I agree he never would have played here, but let's not act like Ed Cooley was taking some shot in the dark on playing him. If you’re referring to Navery’s post Abraham is currently starting over Mulready and has been playing more than him all season.Ranked higher than Abraham......
