I don't remember Halaifonua at all against the Huskies. Just looked up the boxscores and he had 2 points the first game and 4 points the second game. Hopefully he blew his wad tonight.
Not a snowballs chance in hell he would’ve saw the court here. It took Cooley taking a chance on him mid season randomly for him to even start breaking out now.
English talked about it in his press conference after the game with Vaaks sitting next to him.How long before PC announces English is gone? Before the bus reaches Providence? Some time later today after the bus stops in Providence? First thing tomorrow morning? The announcement has already been written so you know it's not going past then.
He did his job tonight defensively. Sometimes guys just play a role really well and that’s what he brings to Georgetown. He was a big part in keeping Lewis in check and I assume he’ll probably get assigned Mullins/Ball. Whichever player they feel like needs the assignment the most.Abraham is the most impressive looking non impressive basketball player in the BE. He plays so mechanical.
Gtown could be very good next year if they can get Lewis back. I’d move off Mack even though he has a year left.
When UConn is on defense they are going to have to "draw a line" and guard with attitude. I can see Cooley having his players hunt for mismatches and play 1-on-1. The other thing Georgetown did really well tonight, and I can see Cooley doing a lot tomorrow, is the pick and roll and pick and pop with either Jeremiah Williams or Caleb Williams with Julius Halifinua. Julius was hitting that 10-15 foot shot with high efficiency. He did his job tonight defensively. Sometimes guys just play a role really well and that’s what he brings to Georgetown. Him and Mulready being on the court together can cause a lot of trouble for those two potentially. If they have the guts to go with JWill, Mulready, and Abraham together over stretches they match up well defensively with our perimeter group.
It’s honestly something he could’ve been doing all year but he just never took the shot. He has beautiful mechanics on his jumpshot. When UConn is on defense they are going to have to "draw a line" and guard with attitude.
