Villanova looks really good tonight. Best they’ve looked this year

These nova teams are just so well coached. Idk if I’ve ever seen college teams that play so much on the same page and with a very specific style/strategy as they do.

Purdue really good and Nova’s lack of depth showing up. They look tired and are settling for some bad shots. Hope they can pull this off.

I know Nova’s thing is only playing 6-7 guys each season, but with the Big East looking so good this year, idk how they will stay fresh and not get worn down. They’re going to be playing in a lot of close games during conference play

The problem with Nova's Moneyball-style basketball is that it doesn't always adjust when the other team sells out on defending the perimeter and collapsing on the basket. A team needs a midrange game to keep the defense honest.

I feel like Xavier matches up better with Purdue because of their length, shooting and depth. We're the only other team that brings all 3 so far.

That's two big wins Nova left on the table because they have no bench. They were totally gassed at the end of both games. Wright simply has to give some minutes to Trey Patterson or Jordan Longino and has to make Bryan Antoine a part of the rotation when he comes back.

I love Isaiah Thompson's season stat line:

11-20 from three (45%), 10 assists, two turnovers.

That Edey dunk, HOLY MOLY!!!

They have everything you need in a title contender: bucket-getter (Ivey), dominant frontcourt (Edey/Williams), a calming PG (Thompson), shooters (Stefanovic, Newman, Thompson) a young X-factor who can step up when needed (Furst).

Part of the problem was Purdue’s stifling free throw defense. Nova shot 53% from the line.

39-5. Disappointing loss by Nova. Need to win the other two today.

Purdue goes 10 deep with 2 All - Americans.
2 of the top big men in the country.
Should be a good Boilermaker year
