Big East March ‘26 Thread

Wouldn't say it's dead yet, even if it's ultimately meaningless. We'll still have about a 34% chance after tonight
Are you sure? I think a Creighton win and a PC loss just about killed it. It was Creighton's last game and they'll be finishing with 9 wins, PC would only have 7 after tonight with one to go.

Saw this chart on the Athletic - anything stand out to you guys about us??:

besides the massive free throw differential against us?

But out offense is motion to free up a clean shot. Not many fouls there.

When in a break or just a faster pace we can and demary and even ball in occasion can beat his guy for a layup.

It’s also no coincidence that this season reds have been told to prioritize on ball fouls and freedom of movement for by he ball handler.

So we din’t get many calls being held as we work our screens simply because it’s off ball

Or just the big east refs we hate.

1 game difference: Win tonight (seemed likely) and Providence would just need to win through Wednesday to be post season eligible. Now they have to win out through the BE final (unlikely).

Seems they are ready to call it a season.

Seton Hall is hosting St. John's on Friday with the motivation to get that signature Q1 win for their NCAAT hopes. I think this will be a highly competitive game.

Meanwhile, I am sure Jaylin Sellers is getting good NIL, but I feel bad for him in this Providence -Marquette game. He is exercising in futility trying to motivate and get his teammates to play with effort.

Sometimes I'm generally worried about you. You post so much but pay attention so little. We need to speak to your family and perform an intervention. 😀

Much prefer the 2 seed.

Nova doesn’t scare me much and is a potential Q1 win.

The game times for the two seed are all evenings.

Wouldn't have to watch another Seton Hall slog of a game.
Nova looked pretty good tonight.

It would've been a lot easier if you just admitted you don't know what you're talking about on this.
You are the one defending something that occurred 45 years ago as relevant today.

I'm done. You win. Of course DePaul will own Chicago once they start winning.

Bobby Hurley?
Lol

Big brother Bobby. Fabled Duke college career. Come to Providence to be second fiddle to little brother Danny.

I don’t think so.

Maybe a nice A10 spot would be good for Bobby. It’s not like he has a long track record of excellence. Did a reasonable job at a school with low expectations.

Pitt wanted a Hurley...

He'll be OK. Probably not a bad dude, just can't read a room. Most likely voted "Talks Most, Says Least" by classmates.

Maybe they can grab another Fairfield coach
I know you are probably being sarcastic in saying PC fans and athletic department would hope to catch another Ed Cooley. The 3 names Jeff Goodman suggested were Jarrod Calhoun (Utah State), Bryan Hodgson (South Florida), or Josh Schertz (St. Louis). However, these coaches are the top of the list and Providence will have a lot of competition for these coaches and might get outbid.

Another name they should consider is Tony Skinn from George Mason as he is doing well at George Mason. However, selling another George Mason coach to the PC fanbase might be tough. Either way, the Providence athletic director, Steve Napolillo, needs to get this hire right or he will lose his job.

There are two things the PC can offer, HC $$ and NIL.
