Big East January '26 Thread - Take Two

Fire Kim English.
I have never seen a player make THE PERFECT dumb, sloppy plays to consistently find a creative way to throw away a game as Corey Floyd, but English doesn't sit guys no matter what they do. That's probably a big reason he can't get them to play defense. They never have a game when all their best players are playing, and 0-4 in OT games speaks to not learning from mistakes. English also refuses to get on the refs the same way he refuses to get on his players, and just like with the players, the refs take advantage of him not being "the squeaky wheel" who demands that the refs call it both ways.

Butler slowly pulling away. I like Bizjack, but he does a lot better against bad teams than good teams. I think some of his goofy moves don't work against better defenders.

Ian Jackson probably didn’t make his triumphant return home to New York thinking he’d sit behind Dylan Darling for the last 18 minutes of games.

St. Johns can defend the rim. SHU's kamikaze drives resulted in a lot of tough shots. Sometimes mid-range is the right shot on offense.

47-32 at the under 16 timeout and these dudes are sitting on 56 points, flat out embarrassing hoops for 15 minutes

They just throw grenades at the basket. It doesn't seem like theyre actually trying to make the shot

Thing is all they had to do was just be the tougher team. They didn’t even need to be all that good. They just had to do their thing.

I think they are probably NIT bound at this point. They won’t be able to find that level of toughness they need again. They’ll just wilt.

Seton Hall could not close this game out more pathetically. What a waste of a big lead. I don't even know if it was as much StJ playing that well as it was SH playing that bad.
They've done everything they can to give this game away. smh

100. Seton Hall's offense can go dry for long stretches and it can be tough to watch.
Truer words were never spoken! That was one ugly second half. They didn't look that offensively challenged against UConn. Almost but not quite that bad.
