It feels strange to be watching a Dec. conference game not involving UConn and caring who wins.

The Hall got outrebounded 47-29.

Not sure where you saw those rebounding numbers but the boxscore on ESPN says Seton Hall outrebounded Marquette 51-33. And Stephen Payne had 22 rebounds? Are these numbers right?

Huge win for SH simply because they avoided a bad loss. They already have 12 wins. Realistically, they only need 9 or 10 more in the regular season and they are in.

His numbers were wrong. Payne was a beast on the boards, he had 22 himself. I think he had it backwards.

I really want Butler to be good for some reason.

Same. I think part is that we've never lost to them so I dont have a negative bone in my body for them. But a bigger part is the underdog mystique they have - from their Horizon days making the FF twice, of course their home arena being Hinkle.

Creighton goes through these stretches where they seem to just quit. They are just throwing the ball away, then jogging back on defense. Butler was 10 feet ahead on some of those layups. It is strange.

I think they finish 2nd in the conference. McDermott is a helluva coach

But, beyond that, will the conference help prepare UConn for the March pursuit of another national championship? If so, to what extent? Will the Big East round robin bolster the Huskies’ resume? Not really.

The conference is down, way down. UConn is currently the Big East’s only ranked team. The Huskies, despite key injuries, plowed through their nonconference gauntlet, losing only to No. 1 Arizona (without starters Tarris Reed Jr. and Braylon Mullins). They went 4-1 against ranked teams.

If you think Creighton can finish second in the conference after their less than stellar OOC performance then that tells me how bad the Big East is this year.

Couple of notes: As of today, UConn would have 7 Q1 opportunities in the regular season. They would also have 6 Q2 opportunities.

In comparison to the ACC, the Big East has 6 teams inside the top 50 of the NET. The ACC has 7.

Creighton has some life, but they will have to show out in the BE to get a bid. Marquette may not win on the road. They feel like a team that may have 4-5 wins in conference this year.

As for StJ - trying to convert players to PG that you haven't had time with in the system is no easy task (Mahaney).

Seems like we will be wanting to cancel games like in baseball because we’re better off not playing than winning!

The NBE is bad this year. Worse than 2023 when it was a 3 bid league. I would guess UConn goes 18-2 or something.

Nelson, how come the NBE isn’t gaming the system like other leagues are? Maybe the Catholics are keeping it honest?

Listen, it's a Connecticut paper writing from the perspective of UConn. It's not like I grabbed this from some obscure publication about college hoops and the Big East in general. I'm sure I could find lots of articles telling us what we all know, well except you, but I'm not doing that.

Do you have to be a jerk all the time? Just don't read my posts then. You refuse to acknowledge the obvious and have to comment every time anyone says anything bad about the Big East. I always thought you were a strange poster before this season but you're taking it to new heights this season. Keep doing it and you can continue to show what most people already thought.
