Ole Miss win probably won't be worth much to St Johns by the end of the season with the way they look today vs NC State. On the flipside if this blowout holds that should help Seton Hall
Yikes, if anything this makes St. John's look worse. They struggled to defeat Ole Miss while Will Wade and his boys at NC State are up 27 points with the score of 63-36 and 11 minutes left.

Cooley is extremely overrated as a coach. He did fine at Providence but not spectacular. One good year, regressed and left in a messy way.

Year 3 in the NIL-portal era is more than enough time to get your act together and actually compete for a tourney bid. He has not come close in any of his chances in spite of significantly improved talent.

I think the Auburn loss summed it up. Auburn has been eviscerated in just about every other ranked matchup it has appeared in. Against St. John’s? An 11 point win.

Nova should be doing whatever they can to get the 3rd foul on Clark in this first half with this much time left

...and on cue Holloway subs him out because of how handsy and aggressive Clark was still playing on D with 2 fouls

Hall squandering good will with the fan base.

I wanted Seton Hall but I really like Nova and Willard is going to get them in the tournament his first season there. That's a really good thing for the Big East.
Yeah it is - as much as SH is a nice story, it's better to have Nova back and relevant after the Neptune disaster. They're walloping them.

We honestly should too - that team is brittle.

Scratch SH as a possible loss, enter Nova. I think we take both. 19-1 here we come.

Never been super high on Willard but if he has Nova looking this competent already with a just ok portal haul then he should really get it rolling once he mixes in high level HS recruits with immediate portal help. This Nova team isn't close to as talented the team Neptune had in '23-'24 but they look miles better.

If rumors of increased $$ for SHU and Holloway to go get players are true, they might be a couple of portals and a couple of 4 stars away from turning the corner.

Got to think Nova really did their due diligence on this one after the Neptune disaster. I'd leave it to their admin not to screw it up twice in a row.

Hall has no offensive talent, struggling to make layups.

Seton Hall has missed so many layups, tips and 2-footers. I thought they would win a close one at home.

I'll say one thing, Hurley better have the team practicing how to break a full court press before they play Seton Hall. Because I can see a scenario where UConn is up double digits and Holloway sees the only way to get back into the game is to unleash an all out full court press.

Apparently Villanova went scoreless over the final 4:27 and the whole time their projected win percentage never fell below 99.8%

I think the Hall is gonna be alright—with caveats. I think Villanova is really underrated and SHU still is a defensively gritty team, but that offense is a real problem and could cost them a few trap games if they’re not careful.

Neither team if they make it to the NCAA tournament will make it out of the first weekend.

Just have to get there. It’s hard to advance in March but I could see Villanova winning a game if Acaden Lewis progresses like he has been.

I am sure Marquette is not the only program having mid season departures.

This is a good thing for them. Hopefully they have more departures and Shaka will be forced to hit the portal hard.
Junior started averaging over 8/game which is about third on team. Weird. What’s going on in that locker room?
