Not a big win. They barely beat DePaul despite the fact that their best player, Javon Freeman-Liberty not playing.Big win for Xavier. With 14 wins and their OOC, they need 5 more for a tourney bid.
However, on the other side of the argument, this is the most talented balanced DePaul team in quite some time:
- JFL is their clear lead guard
- David Jones is a very good #2 option at the wing
- Brandon Johnson is their #3 scoring option who also does all the dirty work and has the ability to play the 5 when they want to go small.
- Jalen Terry is their young, four-start point guard who was originally recruited by Stubblefield. Despite getting starter minutes, he has the ability to play alongside JFL, so he's not always counted on to be their on-ball guard.
- They have defensively minded 1/2 punch at the post between Anei/Ongenda.
