Isn't this one of those counting stats that speaks for itself? Most steals per minute = best stealer. Context matters a lot less here than something like fg% or even blocks because they're dependent on height.

Not quite as this metric strongly favors guards who have far more opportunities to steal the ball. But since our top two candidates are both forwards, I think the answer is clear here. What they did playing the positions they played is legendary.

Point taken, but remember with five fouls it was Calhoun's practice to sit someone for the rest of the the first half on the second foul. Six fouls lets you get two in the first half and keep on the floor.

(With five fouls if you get a quick first foul you’re going to have to play more cautiously knowing that your second will take you off the court for the rest of the half)

According to your link, Desmond Cambridge is #1 all-time (steals per game). I wonder, though, if his listed total of 84 games played is erroneous. If it's correct, he's the best by a ridiculous margin.

a) Really surprised Nadav is running away with it. Not here that long and it's been a while since he played. Happy that there's enough old people here to push the results.

b) That said, it's a tough question. On the ball, I'd take a Boatright or Ricky Moore or Kemba type guy....but in that press, Nadav was the PERFECT player for that safety spot. If all of it is in the mix, he's the best "stealer"....even if that's a little unorthodox in how he wins it.

I voted for Nadav. He was good in the press and in half court situations.

Shabazz was pretty impressive to watch. Loved the way he was good for 1 or 2 on ball steals that led to easy layups for him a game.
