Thanks once again for all your feedback. I have ideas for 4 more before the season starts

Fun fact: in 2020-2021 RJ Cole and Tyrese Martin both made the top 5 most steals in a single game 6 steals each. Will they do it again?

Other fun fact Jerome Dyson got 9 steals in a single game

Isn't this one of those counting stats that speaks for itself? Most steals per minute = best stealer. Context matters a lot less here than something like fg% or even blocks because they're dependent on height.

number 1 Plastic Man ( Nadav) for that magic year he was here
As great as Burrell was he is sadly second .
Both Navav , single season and Burrell ‘s career are tough records to break.
The only UConn record more untouchable is
rebounds .

There is only one reach around bandit

Pontiac Bandit is better.

Correct answer is Scott Burrell. Just incredible timing and athleticism for four years. Rumor has it he once jumped over an offensive player and while coming down stole the ball from him.

Would have loved to have seen Dove play more than one season.

Caron might be most underrated. And he had that steal and behind the back pass while flying out of bounds.

No. There's definitely context and nuance in that guards generally have the most opportunities because they are guarding the players who handle the ball the most.

Biggest context is the years we were doing heavy pressing vs. other years of more man to man funneling to bigs. Have to weigh how much the individual influenced the decision to do more pressing, but in general Calhoun just pressed more in his earlier years at UConn.

Nadav benefited from playing safety in the 2-2-1 for example.

I think I remember that play - can you recall the date/opponent? I would like to watch it again on UConn Husky Games: Welcome to UConn Husky Games!

Also I think the refs called the game Big East game a little differently in the 90’s and let them play, rather than call every ticky tacky foul. Heck, there were two years that the Big East went to six.

Not a rumor… jumped over Rodney Rogers to steal a pass. Rogers was ~6’7”, future NBA talent.

I can't think of Nadav without hearing in my head the conversation between him and Calhoun when he decided to return to Israel for the following season. Something to the effect of "I deed it because I deed it and that's what I deed."
