Anyone?
I wouldn’t think of them when it comes to pizza (not saying it’s bad, just think of them as more of an American style all encompassing restaurant)

If you’re going to be closer to West Hartford I’d recommend Harry’s (Bishops Corner) or Savoy (West Hartford center but more personal size which could be annoying for a group). In Farmington, Naples is a solid spot for pizza.

And, in the West End of Hartford, Pizza Garden is great for all styles of pizza with great sandwiches in a casual environment. Their pizza is as good as any in Greater Hartford.

Someone recommended the Butcher and Baker as a good place for pizza in. Farmington. I never heard of it. Any feedback?
I don't think Butchers & Bakers is known for its pizza and never had it. Naples Pizza and George's Pizza are the big pizza staples in Farmington. Butchers & Bakers, went there once. Not overly impressed, but it is a great location with a nice patio.

IMO Pepe's and Sally's are in a tier of their own. Wooster St is a pilgrimage every pizza lover must make. plus you can get dessert at Libby's pastry shop down the block afterwards.

edit- i tried modern multiple times and the crust was always too soft/droopy it never had the same char you get at pepe's/sally's
Ask for it well done and it’s perfect and every time I’ve ordered it’s always ready in 20 minutes.

Stopped on the way up to the game Wed at a place that I don't recall seeing getting much love on this thread...Olde World in Hamden. I have to say, it was REALLY good. The thing that stood out was that it wasn't very crispy but I chalked that up to being a few minutes late for pick up ( I did immediately crush it right out of the box in their parking lot though).

For giggles, I checked out Portnoy's review and he actually noted the same thing about it not having much crisp to it. Nevertheless, I think the taste was outstanding and if you're in the area, do yourself a favor and order one up to eat fresh out of the oven.

Coming from Boston before the game on Friday, will have time to hit up somewhere and my buddy wants pizza. I searched in this thread a little bit, but it's rather unwieldly. I understand there's not much quality in Storrs and just some okay places around the immediate Storrs areas .

What's the best pizza place East of Hartford and north of Mohegan?

Camille's in Tolland (195 right off I-84) is pretty good. Most convenient.

Best in the area you outlined would be Pepe's in Manchester.

Try Gido’s Brick Oven in Sturbridge Ma. It’s at 367 Main St.

I presume you are coming in on the Mass Pike to 84, so it’s a perfect place to stop. It will take you 30-35 minutes to get to campus from there depending on traffic. Very good.

For pizza loving Yarders living in Hartford County-Sally's opening at West Farms Mall (next to Jordan's Furniture) is Feb 13th. 80Ft big screen for sports

How did a survey about Fairfield pizza get added to a legendary year's long pizza thread? Blasphemy!

Pepes in Watertown Mass last night. No issues, (I eat at NH at least 4x a year, and take out from Fairfield monthly) there was an insane amount of pepperoni on my red pie, perfect bake and char. But it was empty, granted we were in there around 5:05 pm.

Camille’s is great but will probably be busy.
We went there before the Sacred Heart game (opening night) and got there about 5:00 and it got busy about 6:00. But I think there were still tables available even then. We actually called on the way down and asked if it was busy and they saved us a table and put in our order so that it would be ready shortly after we got there. They were very nice about everything.

We went there back in August after a Tree House stop. I thought it was gross. Yuck!

Wiilibrew gets raves for their tap list and food. They have 10" Personal pizzas.

Definitely have heard a bunch about old world and, despite living in Cheshire for 6 months, never got some. Definitely want to. It’s because Cheshire has Fuoco, which is phenomenal; and Antonio’s and Sergio’s, which are both very good. So the furthest I would ever head into Hamden to eat was BRGRKO or Bangkok Boulevard for the most part since my pizza needs were more than satisfied

If you feel okay with stopping in Worcester on the way down, Volturno is a solid bar with some good creative pizzas. Obviously not Apizza, but a very solid option not far out of the way on your drive. The wife and I have stopped in a couple times driving to/from family in CT
