Best performance by an opposing player vs UConn?

Frosh (?) Berwanger BC center '74 NIT
1/4 final , short-ish near-buzzer beater, 2 secs, 76-75 after Jimmy Foster gave us 1 pt lead, 75-74

Berwanger died at 67 last year, in texas;
Played pro in France- his granddad 1st Heisman winner....( ?)

That game was more like the worst performance from a UConn coach, then a good performance from the opposing player.

I remember someone going off in an NIT game at the Civic Center. I think it was Trent Tucker. I may be wrong. My memory has been fading lately.
Yes against Minnesota

.-.
Lindsey Hunter Killed us once in a 1993 home OT NIT loss. 39 points. i believe we had an incredible last minute comeback to get game to OT then lost.
yeah we lost to Jackson State...I was shocked, as I did not anticipate losing to such a lower-conference team that year.

Didnt Gary Trent go off on us from Ohio in 1994 as well during a Christmas time tournament.

He actually played in the NBA for 11 years so at least he was a good player who had a great game. Cannot remember if he was poorly defended, though.

Watching those 5:16 highlights feels surreal like being in an alternate universe watching Tristen Newton light it up against UConn. If someone told me a player on the court for that game would have their name posted on the wall in Gampel I would have guessed 1) James Bouknight or 2) Christian Vital. But I remember watching this game vividly and Newton playing well. I didn't know who the hell he was at the time.

Elijah Allen, 1998. Thought for sure we were going down in a 2-15 game
This is the correct answer 43 points on 17
FG attempts is absolutely bonkers. IIRC it was a 1 point game under 5 min and Ricky got some key stops on Allen to pull away. Rip and KEA both scored 30 in that game as well. One of the crazier tournament games in UConn history.

The fat center from George Mason '06-
Ryan Gomes-
Pitt '08-'12-
When Villanova played with the 3 guard lineup '09- '12-
North Carolina coming into Gample-

Painful memory but Darryl Wilson from Mississippi St. in the 96 NCAA tournament (Sweet 16 game at Rupp Arena) in Ray's junior season.

He was 7 for 11 from three.

Losing Ricky for the tournament cost us this game.
96 losing Ricky
09 losing Dyson

Maybe we have 8 at this point if both guys were in the tourney

I remember Preston Shumpert being a real jerk when we play Cuse back in the late 90s
Was this the guy that was waving and blowing kissed to his girlfriend in the stands?
