It’s a very nice list. Odd Colony crushes the lager game. I have had beers from about half the breweries on this list. Like most lists, this one is subjective. 6.7% … a rare sub-7% hazy in today’s world of over the top IPAs. Tastes like a Trillium Congress Street from 2017 with a bigger grain bill and a bit more body. Very impressive. Noble Savage out in Glen Cove, NY.

If Treehouse isn't on it, or Trillium or Hill Farmstead, then it's wrong. If Treehouse isn't #1 it's wrong. I like Edmund's Oast, it's my go to in cans in the Low Country, but it's a far cry from any of those three in my first sentence (or Tilted Barn or many others). New Glarus is overrated. Other Half is good. Pinthouse is just ok, goof for Austin. Russian River is iconic of course. Sierra Nevada is notably the best national brewery I suppose.Interesting list. It’s a very nice black lager, and it has continued to improve since they first started brewing it. I know it’s a true schwarzbier, which is technically a different (but similar) style, but it’s not nearly as good as Fox Farm’s Quiet Night or Counterweight’s Tmave, both Czech dark lagers.

Need to respect Lawson’s as a pioneer sort of like the Alchemist but really most of their beer is just decent.

Strongly agree. But… while Focal and Heady are still firmly in rotation for me, the same cannot be said for Sip.

Double Sunshine is and was always better than Sip. But their best beers aren't IPAs. Fayston is still superb. The Scragg Mountain Pils is very good and I enjoy the Maple Whatever that used to be Maple Nipple.

I agree. I always pick up Double Sunshine whenever I see it. I feel like Sip has been surpassed by some of the new heavy hitters in the IPA world like Freak Folk, Fidens, Root and Branch etc.

Ah, a question I have been asked so often. And good timing, for I have a bunch of fall beer reviews to drop.
It’s good. Pleasantly maple-ish, but not too over the top. My top choice if you like syrup and drinking before 9 am. Nothing you gotta run out and buy, but nice enough if you want to give it a try.
