They have been at 12% in North Haven in the past. Outrageous monster stouts.Love my stouts with adjuncts. But my faves are not in this stout brewed by Timber Alesx Wayward Lane Brewing (Schoharie, NY). Here, Beneath Covered Bridges.

The owner/brewers wife was pouring. I walked in and her sister and brother in law were there. She said her husband learned Brewing in Maine. It's about 10 minutes from me. They've grown like a weed. I remember when I was stepping behind and pouring my own beer from the taps there. Good group of young Colorado transplants. I rarely drink been any more, but I do grab their Cloud Generator when I can.

I haven’t been able to visit the brewery yet, but have been lucky to drink a lot of Wayward Lane since their stuff entered distro thru DeCicco’s. Adam Rosenthal is a very talented brewer and a seriously good dude. Met him when he came down to Mamaroneck to brew a WCIPA with Zac at Marlowe. Great collab.Adam is the brewer and Allie is his wife at Wayward Lane. I know them personally.
Adam bottled in Colorado for a long time, Andrew's family owned the farm and is the one that does the honey. Kyle runs the retail distribution/sales was friends with Adam in Colorado.
The head brewer isn't from Maine.

Speaking of collabs, this was the front end of the home-and-home with Marlowe, brewed in Schoharie. A 3% (yes, 3%) Czech amber lager that knocked my socks off.I haven’t been able to visit the brewery yet, but have been lucky to drink a lot of Wayward Lane since their stuff entered distro thru DeCicco’s. Sorry. I thought you responded to my Vue Brewing post. My bad. It's about 10 minutes from me. They've grown like a weed. Nice. Weird that it is hazy/unfiltered. I was always a fan of the old Red Hook ESB, maybe inspired by a brewery visit in Seattle. I think it's a nice fall style, mild and malty.View attachment 112433More Marlowe. I’m in that small minority of American craft beer drinkers who enjoy ESBs. This one is slightly more hoppy than a traditional ESB. It really is an exceptional beer.
Just the angle of the sun. This is the same beer once I got back inside the house…Nice. Weird that it is hazy/unfiltered. I was always a fan of the old Red Hook ESB, maybe inspired by a brewery visit in Seattle. I think it's a nice fall style, mild and malty.
member #2. Picked up a taste for them when in England.View attachment 112433More Marlowe. I’m in that small minority of American craft beer drinkers who enjoy ESBs. This one is slightly more hoppy than a traditional ESB. It really is an exceptional beer.
"Is there a black purse in here?"View attachment 112373The first of Marlowe’s two 6th anniversary beers. A 7.2% IPA with New Zealand Freestyle Hops Nectaron, Peacharine, and Nelson hops. This is the best IPA I’ve had in 2025.
Been forever since I’ve had a scotch ale. NEBCO Neighbor of the Beast at least 6-7 years. That’s a dark one you’re sipping. Rolling the dice with those adjuncts… how is it?From Little House Brewing Company in lil Chester CT...a Scotch ale clocking in at 10%abv. Innit...gingerbread cookies, ginger, cinnamon and vaniller.

I love a good Scotch ale. Will need to look for these. I traded for some Three Floyds many years ago when that's how you got it, and had some Robert the Bruce, their Scotch Ale. Fantastic stuff but it never makes its way here.Too freakin' easy. Like a 7%. Will be great near the fire bowl.
I was just coming here to post about Vue in Southington. I was in a local pub in Unionville and they had Vue’s Tarn in cans. A really nice English Brown and I see in their website they have an ESB in the hopper. They don’t have a taproom license, but you can buy beer to go. Glad to see English and Scotch ales making some headway in the IPA dominated landscape. From Little House Brewing Company in lil Chester CT...a Scotch ale clocking in at 10%abv. Is there a limit to how many "glasses" you can buy? 😆At the taproom, you get a full pour when you buy a glass.
I’d like to see Beer’d brew a true hazy with a solid grain bill if they’re going to hop a DIPA with Nelson. They are still stuck in first-generation New England IPA mode. Nothing wrong with that, but when it’s not at a Heady or Focal Banger level, it’s not worth buying in place of better options. From Beer'd...this used to be called "Hobbit Juice." The LOTR people said, "Nah!" and now here it is under a new name. Single-hopped with Nelson.
