Thought I’d share something even the site beer expert would like. Maibok from Treehouse. They crush it with traditional styles. Deck has since been power-washed.

In one of his upcoming reviews, the Boneyard Beer Expert has a Treehouse beer - I stopped by the Charleton location a few weeks ago. You’ll be on the edge of your seat for that one.

I did not get to try anything while I was there - I was in a bit of a hurry and I wanted to get something to go that was more representative of what they do

Here’s a bit of praise for Treehouse as an organization - they really have a great set up and way of going. Really pleasant place, spacious, well-staffed by nice people. I’ll get back there for a longer stint at some point.

But here’s a thing….I guess you would say Julius is their foundation beer, if there is one. They’re selling it for $4 a can. For what it is and the operation that they’re supporting with it….$4 is really customer-friendly.

Remarkably that whole place was built selling it and a few others for $4 a can. When I went to the old farm location you could only get 10-12 beers at a time. But on a cold January weekday morning there was a line of 150 people.

What they've done since, the other locations, saving that golf course in Andover, the Sandwich location, really about as customer first as you can ever hope to find. When you go back, try the classic bar because the traditional styles are fantastic.

For the record, I've known about what ultraviolet light does to beer for a few decades, but I believe that some here are making far too much of it.

Due to packaging, the bottles won't see any sunlight from the braurerie (if it's Spaten, birerria if it's Peroni, another favorite) through to placement on the shelf. From there, it's entirely up to the purchaser.

I stopped by last month on a Monday, on my way back from the Cape - maybe mid-afternoon, rainy day.

Parking lot was at least half full. (For those who do not know….this is not a small parking lot.) Really pressed for time and I just wanted to pop and pop out so I was a tiny bit concerned about the crowd. From the time I punched my order into the kiosk to pick up was about 30 seconds. Maybe I was there for five minutes.

Also, if anyone goes there, Apple and Google really want to send you there the long way from 84 or 90. Look at the route. Take the shorter option on 20.

I have to admit. Until today I didn't have any clue this thread still existed or, moreso, that any pompous d-bags still stood around at cookouts blathering on about IPA's. Hasn't the 15 minutes of craft beer being a thing long since passed?
No. Now go back to crushing the hopes and dreams of people in the pizza thread. You’re not welcome here with the beer nerds, um, experts.

Last week, I sat on a beach in perfect weather with ice cold frosty High Life bottles and couldn't have been happier. Congrats on your can of pine cones and hazy yeast.

I get the narrative. A Double IPA is indeed too much for the beach. I rarely drink those and split them when I do.

On the other hand, I hate the Czech/German hops on the beach, too bitter, too earthy and astringent. The tropical/citrus hops in a nice Pale Ale pair much better with a hot beach day. Even something utterly mild like a Mango Cart works or Orange Blossom Pilsner from Florida. The Handline Kolsch from Devil's Purse on the Cape is crisp and clean.

Love Miller High Life. But if you really want to take that experience to the next level - and it’s amazing - then you need to make a stop in Brooklyn.

Sunday AM visit to Caius Farm in Branford. Serenity now...

They have a YouTube channel featuring the founder/owner doing various blind taste test and providing beer advice - guy is very unpretentious for being craft beer royalty and seems like a genuinely nice guy.

He dripped pretentiousness, man.

Also, @Deepster, there’s room here for more beer experts.

Pretty sure @karstenkibbe is the second-ranked beer expert here but the field gets kinda muddy from there. The guy who broke like 12 rules drinking at Old Orchard is probably third now, but not sure.

Et tu, Brute? Nary a syllable for me?

As for you and @Deepster throwing your noses up at "craft beer" - pipe down.

All of the IPA fandom has brought on one thing we can all agree on - lots of good FRESH beer to try. Without Heady Topper's insanity, there is no Treehouse, Caius, Marlowe - any of it. The variety of amazing non-IPAs these places are making should make everyone happy. And yes, they'll gladly serve you an IPA, too.

We live in great times for beer - enjoy them.

Well I guess we have different opinion of what pretentiousness is. If you read the comments and watch other videos, most would side with me but to each their own. I guess what did he say that wasn’t true? He literally said he supports folks who like macro and hopes they would consider trying his beer, which he thinks is better, and is educating people about the brewing process for each.

LOL. What next? Schlitz in a baccarat crystal mug? You beer nerds really are a trip.

Next time I see you at a tailgate, I'll let you have a Busch Light to see what real men drink.

If it's fresh, I'm in. Will probably need the hydration.

If it's been sitting on the floor of your local packy waiting for next football season - no chance.

Friday night I made a “trailer park/NASCAR spritz” - miller high life with an oz of Aperol and a squeeze of lemon - it was damn tasty. 10/10 recommend if your looking for a refresher

I always knew it as a "spaghett." Good summer drink. I'll crush a few of those in the pool from time to time.
