This is one of the more crushable witbiers I've had (courtesy of Meddlesome in Memphis if for some God forsaken reason UConn ends up in a conference with them again). The orange notes are not as strong as they are in a Blue Moon, which works out nicely. The odor is forgettable yet innocuous, and the coriander really shines here. I would drink another.

7.6/10

Speaking of Branford…

-> NEBCO announced on Friday that it has purchased Stony Creek Brewery's facility at 5 Indian Neck Ave., Branford. The waterfront property has a brewery, taproom, event space and kitchen trailer <-

-> NEBCO is partnering with North Branford's Supreme Seafood Restaurant's owners, Robert Marcarelli and Jared Schulefand, to offer food options for the new location, a news release said. NEBCO Craft Kitchen by Supreme Seafood's menu will include lobster rolls, burgers, wings and more. The dinner service is set to have a soft opening later this summer. The news release noted that NEBCO will also have food trucks on special occasions. <-

Between this news, the presence of Caius Farm Brewery and the acquisition of the Stewards of the Land Brewery property in Northford by the folks at Kent Falls, that could be a fun and easy beer sipping day trip for me from Stamford. Throw in a few fish and chips stops and a designated driver and I’ll be in heaven.

I could use a Marlowes mule.

35 family members heading to the property. Pregaming with a IIPA from some brewery called Mighty Squirrel. This brew slays. Brings all the tropical notes.

Mighty Squirrel is a staple beer here in metro Boston. Cloud Candy, the singe IPA of that beer, is on tap everywhere. They make some pretty good beers.

Good to know. Local packy had both Cloud Candies. Took a shot.

A friend of mine used to work at their Fenway location. Went there after the bowl game. They make some very good stuff. Cloud Candy is their flagship IPA. Yummy. I’ve seen it around here in the New Haven area since then.

Forgettable swill.

“..notes of papaya, mango and star fruit.”

You could pour this crap on a mango and it would remove the taste of mango from the mango. Drink water instead.

If I'm around, I'll have to check it out. What is the event?
@Dove has it mostly correct in his response above. I organize a winter and summer share at Marlowe. We actually will be mostly inside the brewery. It’s a diverse crowd. Everyone brings bottles/cans to share. Most attendees support Marlowe by buying pours and food. All of the beer brought in is put out of tables for you to sip at your own pace. A few people who bring insane whales closely guard/hold onto their bottles and pour small servings so everyone can get a taste. It’s a great time with like-minded craft beer nerds.

Why do you keep trying these? We know you prefer beer that tastes and smells like the floor of Ted's circa 1986.
