Cigar City was just ok. Had a pale ale. The “hazy” ipa wasn’t really New England style. Way too many buttering hops in the boil.

Had a nice IPA in Tampa. Cigar City did have nice glasses

Looks like Tree House-Saratoga is up and running. As if I needed another reason to visit. I'll be at the track this Thu-Sun, my first 4 day in a row stretch. Can't wait!
You will love it. I know four people who have visited in the last three weeks. All of them raved about the experience. A few things to keep in mind… they are only doing pizza by the slice at this point. You can bring in outside food, if you’d like. Can list has expanded greatly since it opened, including a nice ode to the ponies…

Stay out of New York. We have standards.

Was in Hague recently for a Memorial service and didn't know Saratoga was open until I was about to come home. Yeah, I stopped for a pick up.

WHat was weird is that when ordering cans online, only as 4-packs. Then, when in the case, the cans were all singles.

Seems many breweries in Florida still don't know how to brew a New England IPA. The hint usually comes when they call it a "hazy". Actually talked to the brewer at Overflow brewing in St. Pete and it was obvious he had no idea and was just making a bitter west coast IPA and then hazing it up. Both his "hazies" were horrid, his Munich Dunkel was fine.

The Child from Unseen Creatures Brewing in Miami was easily the best example we had. Named after Grogu/Baby Yoda, kind of fits with the name of the brewery. But that beer style is really a mixed bag across much of the south.

Set aside that Tree Monkey Fruit Smash Triple New Zealand IPA that you’re pretending to like because you forgot beer was supposed to taste good and get a nice 1664 lager.

Beer, with beer notes and a lingering beer aftertaste. This beer doesn’t care about your emo nonsense and your pretentious beer advocate reviews that few read and no one believes. This is a beer for men who like beer, not boys who like fruity nonsense with imbecilic names.
@Fishy , over in Japan and the Asahi hits right. It is beer that tastes like beer and drinks smooth and easy.

Is it different from the one they sell here?

Looks like the same cans.

I'd say it's the same, but different. Every time I am dumb enough to try Asahi in the US, I am disappointed. It's skunky or has chemical tastes, whatever. Over here it tastes great. I've had it in cans and on tap.

Same thing goes for Heineken. When I get it over in Netherlands, the stuff tastes great out of cans, bottles or on tap. Every time I try a Heiny here in the states, it sucks.

With Heineken it was the green bottles. Light stroke causes that skunked taste/smell. Heineken hated it so much they almost left the U.S. Then switched to new packaging and it's much better now.

I'm familiar with green bottles and skunking but I've had skunked Heineken in a can here in the states. I've been burned enough times where I'll never order another Heineken here in the states.

This is flat out insane. A triple dry hopped, incredibly drinkable only 6% IPA. Just packed with hops and flavor.

I have absolutely no doubt that its a really good IPA as Marlowe makes good ones.

But as a homebrewer and a proud dad of a craft brewer daughter, the whole "DDH" "Triple Dry Hopped" thing is mostly a marketing ploy. They could have single dry-hopped it and it would have basically come out the same.

First off, absolutely fantastic to hear that your daughter is following in your footsteps and pursuing her passion. Great to see more female brewers. I do agree with you that in many cases, a DDH or TDH won't "improve" an IPA. But, this beer is impressive because the dry hopping - using high quality and expressive hops (Krush, Nelson and Citra) - really brings out the hop character of each, particularly in aroma. That wouldn't be the case as much if they were simply added in the boil. It's an impressive, incredibly flavorful hazy for a fairly low-ABV IPA. Not just saying that because I'm an admitted Marowe white knight.
