Wouldn't have immediately taken it for an IPA...much more (but not too much) malt taste than most IPAs...not bad at all...

During the summer with all the outdoor activities I go as light as possible. I've had a few of these the past few weeks as well. Can't believe it's French. Decent pilsner.

So I am late to the game here but I can't stand IPAs. Pretty much everything in California is an IPA...heck there was a triple IPA for sale at$12.50/pint today....I can't stand it.

I have graduated from crap American Beers to Belgian Ales....I appear to be an ale guy...although stouts have been more and more appetizing. I think my pallet is evolving.

You’re going to miss out on some great beers if you think all American beer is crap. The Belgian ales can be fantastic. The Trappist ales are strong and distinctive. A stout is almost always an ale btw.

Oh Piton beer! Remember drinking that terrible beer all week on my honeymoon in St Lucia. The only thing that made it ok was that it was my honeymoon and Sandals.

I was there last year and there was 1 craft brewery on St. Lucia called Antillia Brewing Company that was O.K. but better than drinking that Piton crap.
 
I kind understand the IPA comment. Years ago I hated the west coast bitter quaffs. Now enjoy them. Lagunitas IPA is a staple.

New juice bombs are okay. Hit or miss.

My new delicious discoveries while in RI 2 weeks ago...Newport Craft Brewing's Rhode Rage IIPA and Rising Tide (Portland, ME) Soundings IPA.

Just had a coffee IPA from Sierra Nevada. Holy cow it was good.

I swear I gave 'em a try. A few years ago I went to a joint in Albany, it was in an old firehouse and served nothing but German beer. I tried a bunch of different kinds and didn't like a one.

Oh I don’t doubt that. All I’m saying is that the styles are much different than IPAs, which I think have skewed many people’s palates. I was there myself for many years and never realized it until I stopped drinking them for a while.

Give em a try again, especially in the summer and especially if you see Von Trapp beers. In my experience, tastes can change over time.

Graduated to Belgian Ales. Wow. True master of beer drinking.

I liked them right away...and then wanted them stronger and stronger...doubles and triples...but, within the last year or so, I realized that the sessions actually taste better, and you can have one or two during the day even...

Lol, I honestly hate IPAs but there are OTHER ales that I like.

And most lagers don't bother me, I just think Coors and Bud don't taste as good as the mircobrews.

I use to drink Coors Light exclusively and then stumbled upon the Untapped Ap and my life has changed. I had a Coffee-Chocolate Stout yesterday that was amazing.

Wow. The existing place is gorgeous. For a brewery, it really is spectacular. I'm struck however, by the notion that those patios, Adirondack chair, and outdoor fireplaces, are all wasted, because they can't even open up the tap lines most of the time. Seems to me that they realize this and are striving to allow customers to enjoy what they've built.

Totally agree, intolerable... created as a cheap source of hydration for farm workers - although maybe a step up from the water options of the day.
I also think Belgian Ales and the Trappist monk stuff is waaay overrated as well.

Hard to beat a solid american IPA...even given the uderstanding that "NE" IPA is getting overdone..
Anyone had anything from Lord Hobo Brewing? Picked up some Hobo Life Session IPA on a recommendation... hoping it doesn't suck...

I have no idea how people drink it. They always find their way into the larger microbrewery sample packs this time of year and just sit there.
