Maybe I'm missing something, but a lot of this playing out has played out. To suggest that the fanbase has been impatient....
Syracuse and Pitt leave, we are told to be patient. UConn will be next to the ACC says Gov. Mumbles.
TCU and WVU leave, we are told to be patient.
Boise State, SDSU, Houston, UCF SMU, Temple are invited, we are told to be patient.
Notre Dame chairs the expansion committee.
Memphis State is invited, we are told to be patient.
The Big East is stripped of revenue and status by the other 9 conferences. It is represented at these meetings by the Louisville president. We are told to be patient. The tv deal will be worth eleventy billion dollars.
Notre Dame leaves, we are told to be patient. Notre Dame had been in talks with the ACC for months. It cites the "not the same conference we joined" line in bidding farewell.
Rutgers leaves. We are told to be patient.
Louisville leaves. Warde orders another pina colada. He's told it'll be ready in a minute. "Be patient, Warde." Pat pat.
Tulane ECU are invited.
Boise State, SDSU leave before ever coming. We are told to be patient.
Gtown, Nova, Marquette, PC, St. John's, Depaul, Seton Hall leave. We are told to be patient.
We are staring at sustaining an athletic department budget more than two times the size of any <insert name of conference here> team left. All the while our former peers and rivals will be receiving 10 to 15 times revenue from the conference.
We are in a conference with no name, with schools that have no athletic, cultural or geographic ties to UConn, and meanwhile our president is telling us what a great fit this conference is...well, when I hear that, excuse me for being impatient.
