There is a lot of buzz following napier on these workouts, people tweeting how he has impressed many across the league. I think ainge will be intrigued, especially if they do something with rondo soon. still, many of the celts fans i know want nothing to do with him.

I was originally hoping he'd sneak into the first round, and the longer this goes on, the more it sounds like he could threaten to get into the back end of the lottery.

If he wasn't such a moron, he'd probably still be playing in the league at another position.
If Tebow had gone to Alabama to play LB...he would have had a MUCH different outcome as an NFL player!!
Now on to Bazz...he will become the poster child on what can happen by staying in school for 4 years.

They're too busy stewing about Ray Allen

There once was a guard named Tiny who was a star. Celtics have some good history with small point guards.

"Shabazz is so clever and shifty," said Austin Ainge, Boston's director of player personnel. "He is very hard to stay in front of. He really changes direction very well. He's quick, but he's even more shiftier than he is quick; and he makes shots."
But his shot-making at the next level is among the many concerns with him as NBA teams are unsure whether he'll be able to get those same shots off against bigger, more athletic competition than what he faced in college.
"Shabazz is not physically overwhelming," Ainge admitted. "But he has toughness, intelligence and skill, and that extra savvy. He more than makes up for it. He's a good player."

What's with ESPN Mag? Read part of draft (cover) story in dentist office this am. They have Bazz at end of story, so not (I think) ranked in top 20. Something about his role as a good back-up.

He's being slotted anywhere from 22 to 30. Ennis is around 16, I don't get it. Bazz is an inch or 2 shorter and a couple years older but more capable in so many ways. There will be some crow to be eaten in about 3 years I predict.

Emergency re-visit to dentist revealed that ESPN Mag had him @26!! And a second stringer at best. Surely the system is duck*d-up.

The more I read on the "Bazz Buzz", the more I see Bazz moving up. Chicago is very high on him now (Heat, Celtics, Thunder could be on the outside, looking in). Ennis appears to be out in Chicago. Remember Chicago just dumped 1st round floppy Marquis Teague (of KenSucky fame) after a season and a half. Teague could be out of the league this fall at age 21. I doubt Chicago want another Freshman PG with limited experience, who cannot run a team or shoot consistently. If D. Rose comes back solid next year... Him & Bazz could be a very dangerous backcourt with ball handling, passing & scoring. Rose is big enough to check SGs. If they draft Bazz, I think D.J.A. is gonzo...

Selfishly, I would still love to see Bazz in Boston or even with NYKs (if they can swing a trade).

He's ahead of Ennis in a lot of the most recent mocks.

As much as I'd like to see Bazz in Oklahoma City, I'm guessing they feel they're set at point guard with Reggie Jackson and Westbrook. Granted, Westbrook and Jackson can both play the two, and Westbrook is enough of a freak physically that he might even be able to play the three in spurts (we saw Jackson, Fisher, and Russ for the last ten minutes and overtime of game six against San Antonio), but this is Scottie Brooks we're talking about. And if we've learned anything, it's that Scottie Brooks doesn't give young players much rope.

Many see Bazz as D.Fish, part II (similar size, shooting, clutch shots, defense, etc). R. Westbrook & R. Jackson are scorers first, but solid ball handlers & passers. They are similar in that respect. I think OKC lets Sefolosha walk & starts Jackson at the 2G. That would open up minutes for Lamb off the bench since he can blend with either Westbrook or Jackson... but add Bazz to the mix, it could a very solid back up mix. All can score, all can handle, all can pass. Very versatile. OKC still needs a replacement for Perkins. Adams has potential. Not sure Thabeet is it though. Resign Bulter too.

there's been talk of moving Jackson into the starting lineup with Sefalosha all but guaranteed to move on, but it could just be the OKC media pushing that more than that being what the Thunder actually want to do. if that happened they would need a PG, but as you said with Brooks in charge it would be hard to see him going to a rookie for that role. When it was Jackson's rookie year Fish got all of those minutes at backup guard in addition to Harden once Maynor tore his ACL.

I can see the Heat letting Chalmers walk. Draft Bazz and sign a Vet to start the season. Unnamed vet, Bazz, and Coles benefitting from playing with LBJ.

Yeah, the more I think about it, I'm definitely not complaining if Shabazz goes to OKC. He probably wouldn't play crunch time minutes, but him and Lamb in the same back court on the second unit would be fun to watch. As much as I love Caron, he looks done to me - I doubt OKC brings him back (I assume they want to open up more minutes for Lamb) and I wouldn't be shocked if he retired. And as you said, Sefolosha is likely gone as well, so there should be plenty of time at the wing for guys like Jackson and Lamb.

Looking at the draft order, it's hard to imagine Shabazz falling to the Heat. Starting with Chicago at #19, there will be an assemblage of teams lining up for point guard help. Augustin had a good year, but I'm pretty sure he is a free agent. OKC at #21 is a possibility, and Memphis at #22 is another team to keep an eye on with Udrih being a free agent. Charlotte at #24 is enticing as well - they had Luke Ridnour playing the backup point this year so they could obviously use an upgrade there. Lastly, Houston at #25 is interesting. Lin is solid but sort of underwhelming (and was a disaster in crunch time this postseason), and you could probably hide Shabazz defensively (if he struggles early on, which he probably will) playing Beverly alongside him.

I would take Patric Young and CJ Fair late first round vs. early second. With Young who cares if his offense game doesn't develop beyond the basics. Who wouldn't take his physicality inside. Lots of teams need that. Fair would be good on a running team and the dude is long and can score, quite frankly.

I can see the Heat letting Chalmers walk all day long.. either him or Coles... Bazz would fit nicely in South Beach... But I still say he'd be a better fit with the Knicks... I digress ( since they won't be picking in rd 1 unless they can trade a player for a 1st rounder )

Quite frankly, I think CJ Fair will suck as a pro.
