Bazz and Boat Disagreement

Watch the games. Boat has way too many TOs in the last five minutes of games. Just a lack of focus. He also has less awareness of he shot clock than Bazz. He also plays more loosely when we are ahead. Has for years.

Yes, some of that is confidence (which is a good thing) or ego. But it doesn't help the team. I love that Boat forces the issue. BUT NOT WITH TWO MINUTES TO GO!!!!!!

I think that was the point that Bazz was making. (And some of you seem to be missing.)
This is a completely different point than the one you made not 10 minutes ago. Loss of focus, fine. Less awareness, whatever. You said he plays for himself when the game is still in question, and you based it on nothing. You say "watch the games." We all watch the games.

Did you see the Rutgers game tonight? Did you see Boat stop being a team player and take the game on himself? Did you see jack up a three with over 20 seconds on the clock?

Explain it to me.

This is a joke of a post.

Borges basically said that they clashed a lot two years ago, to the point that their friction is what was the source of the chemistry issue on that team, not AO/Drummond like so many on this board believe.

I don't know if they like each other now, but they usually play very well together when they're on the court, which is all we can really ask for.
If this is true is there a possibility of a net increase in team chemistry next year w/o Bazz and with best pals Dre and Boat running the show?

Boats last shot was a missed layup at 2:29, the three pointer was missed at 3:44, he made a layup at 4:16, in the last 5 minutes of the game he took 4 of the 7 shots he took all game. Hardly taking over the game with selfish play. Did you actually watch the game?

not a big deal to me as a matter of fact I like it, 2 competitive guys who are hungry to win, correct everything you gottta correct now, don't wait till tournament time to do it.

Bazz as freshman had more confidence than game, but he matured every year and his game eventually caught up. Boat has evolved similarly and has improved incrementally each year (perhaps not as fast as some want). Next year, Boat may not reach the level of maturity that Bazz is playing at, but I suspect he'll improve his decision making and better understand how to help the team win. If that happens, he has a chance to be one of the top 10 guards in the country.

The circles you talk in are dizzying

Bazz was wrong too. The overt display of displeasure and the foul were bad form for the team leader. Bazz has always been intense and assumed a lot of responsibility for the team since Kemba left.. He has said he had to learn how to lead and not just berate his teammates. Tonight he regressed a bit.
Perfunctory disclaimer that I love Bazz

The foul really puzzles me. You can perhaps argue (a little) the merits of going for a dagger three that early in the shot clock with 4 minutes left (clearly bad decision, IMO - and most O's). But there is something to be said for not taking the air out of the ball too soon, as well. Boat took two bad shots within a minute of each other so it was not a good stretch for him, but you do see confident guys go for that dagger shot with 3-4 minutes left sometimes.

But up 7, you foul an 89 percent foul shooter on purpose at midcourt in the bonus and just hand them two points? Why? There are bad basketball decisions and then there's just being stupid.

+2
and lets not get on Welsh too much. He saw it and had to say something. Bazz/Boat are a nationally recognized backcourt, when they publicly go at it, its his job to point it out. The fact that some have seen the sniping/call it what you will for two years is probably something he, and a lot of others, didn't know.

Tonight we heard that KO has a big problem with his star guards. Last night we heard to the point of nausea that PC and Marquette play Big East basketball. Wisdom from the talking heads who brought us conference realignment.

I knew as soon as the OP posted that it would open the Boneyard's stupid tap.

And it did.

In the last home game of their third season together, they snipe at each other during a time out and we're now worried about a chemistry problem? The earth should open up and swallow you nitwits.

Fans should be a lot more worried about the lack of an inside game and especially the way Daniels has played of late.

That was a stupid foul by Bazz esp. since the game was nowhere near won, but those two shots by Boat was even dumber. No one said to milk the clock all the way down, but just jacking up 2 poor shots in less than 10 seconds of the shot clock is back to the past 2 years of dumbest shooter in UConn history Boat. Most confident guys might take that shot, but they tend to do it when wide open and when they miss they give the opposition a better chance to come back.

Not a huge boat fan, most games watching Him is frustrating, but we can't win without him either Imo.

Yeah, and Ollie pulled him out of the game after the three because....... or did you miss that?

Welsh has been doing this every game for 2 seasons now, every game he goes on and on about Bazz & Boat's relationship and how KO has to manage and deal with them. You don't hear this nonsense from any other announcer but him. Are Bazz & Boat completely in sync with each other at all times? No, but they're not two kids at each other's throats day in and day out like Welsh tries to have the audience believe.
