Ball, Bray and Stew....

Locked on UConn guy (Matt Schonvisky) is reporting that Jay Stew is entering the portal....seems pretty certain.
Didn’t he also say that Freeman is visiting and we will prob get him too?

He said he expects Khamenia commit today & Freeman commit after Sat visit....I guess he's wrong about Freeman 😏
The dude is a clown.

I hope Stew can put it all together in his last go around, the skill is clearly there

Wow. How soon we all forget his skill level. He can drive, shoot the three, take a short one in the lane, dunk with ease, defend and make some great passes. If he does all that next season we go undefeated and win #7 without being challenged!

I don't think any team in the NCAA this year could defend out roster unless they allowed some absurd fouling and the refs were overall completely inept. Now -- the 2 games where that sort of unevenness on both sides of the floor occurred were the BET CG and the NCAAT CG.

You can also lose by shooting incredibly poorly (Marquette & Creighton) and the 1st half of Duke. But missing open wide open looks is rarely creited to the other team.
that was the Michigan game

No one has forgotten his skill. He’s very skilled. A very good passer and looks like he understands the game. But he’s gotta find some consistency with it. With that skill he cannot be scoreless 1/4 of the time and have double figure games with as many fouls as rebounds. The frustrating part is we’re having the same offseason discussion about him that we’ve had the last two years as well.

Hearing that Ament is thinking of coming back if not in the lottery - makes you wonder how many of these cases may occur, finagling the middle/back of the first. Also wonder how it impact Mullins.

I would sign for Braylon, solo, Nik and Stewey right now. I think Junior can be an effective P.G backup, which would leave us with only one need: backup center.

He's a lottery pick.

I think he's fringe - in that 12-15 range
Yeah, he dropped a bit. Earlier in the season I saw projections of 6-8, but then players like Mara rose. I'd say 8-12 for Ament is reasonable. He'll be a great pro.

Tough to get shots up in rhythm when Solo Ball regularly goes 3/12 fg 1/7 3pt and the offense is designed to feed Reed, Karaban, Mullins, Demary first.

Why’d we let Solo force up so many shots all season knowing his shooting wrist was injured?

You could see the change in both Stewart and Ross and the end of the season. Zero hesitation on scoring opportunities. It will carry over to their senior years.

I hate to poo on Ball to make a point, but the difference in leash those three have been able to enjoy and improve as scorers has been vastly different.

I think this is such a tired argument. The shots for Stew and Ross were there all season. They just wouldn’t take them or make them. Stew was 43/34/59 this year. Let’s not make it seem like he should be getting lots of shots up either.

You can criticize Ball all you want, but I cannot remember many times when Stew or Ross were pulled for missing shots. Not taking them? Yep. Poor d and fouling? Sure. You want to argue Solo should’ve had a tighter leash? Sure. But we had no one, until Ross really emerged, who could replace him.
