I don't see it with Iowa. I'd be surprised if they were top 10. I thought USC was a bit too low. Same with ohio state in terms of being a bit too low. It's a hard conference to gauge. I'm not sure about the frontcourts of Maryland, USC and Washington but I really love their guards and wings. Even Michigan at 2 seems a bit much to me.
Maryland will be better than Michigan. I went to the scrimmage on Saturday and the Terps may have found a BIG surprise in Marya Boiko in the post. She can play. I was pleasantly surprised at how good she was.

Okananwa was super impressive with 21 points and just dominated. Also at point guard, Lea Bartelme was really impressive. Love how she ran the offense. Kyndal Walker was super good as well. With McDaniel back the Terps are super loaded at guard.

I see the the Terps playing a lot of 4 guards with 6'2 Poffenbarger and 6'3 Garzon playing a lot of forward this season. At this time, Boiko is the only player I can depend on in the post.

Interesting as she seemed to be more of a guard when she played for Indiana.

I'd take Talia's list with several grains of salt. I only glanced through the list and was surprised at the breakdown. Need to review it again, but will be interesting to hear what others think.

I never get too worked up about these preseason rankings. Just something to spark some conversation.

The Terps pretty much don't have a choice since the other two frontcourt players (Williams and Momodu) don't see to be ready right now. The Terps have a light schedule with only one ranked team scheduled and tons of home games. So hopefully they can develop.

Ah. Appreciate the insight. At the same time, this could be good for Garzon as it will show her versatility.

Hate to see a player leave a program but it is understandable. Gopher player (Mallory Heyer) enters the portal. Wishing you all the best, Mallory.

It's a bit of a head scratcher, especially the timing which is peculiar and not great for the team days away from starting the season. She started every game the last three seasons (102 straight games) and played 30 minutes a game last season and announces leaving the team after their scrimmage with Kansas State. Nobody on the Gopher fan forum seems to have a clue why she left other than one "I know but I'm not going to tell" guy (there is always one of those fans).

I think this is a solid list, but confused about Okananwa making the cut. Is it me or did McKeown make an error here?

I'd move Kneepkens up, both of the Huskies should easily be ahead of Londynn Jones. She's not half the player either of them are. Overall decent list but a few of these are bonkers. Jacquez is like the ultimate glue player, but she's too high on this list. Prince should be moved up.

Cripes. I missed Kneepens. How does she make the list when she played for Utah last season? I took returning to be mean players who played in the BIG10 last season.

Well, she is a returning player. Just not for UCLA, and not in the Big 10...

Anyone know why Rice didn't start last night for UCLA?
Close said she was on a minutes restriction just a few days ago and has been trying to catch back up, which made it sound like a temporary arrangement.

I’d be in the second column of that graphic before I listed Rice though. Very solid player but I think both UCLA’s starting guards are more dynamic.

FWIW I also don’t get the Yarden Garzon hype.
