Well, we know UCLA is the favorite going into the 25-26 season after that, it is anybody's guess. I got:

You got Indiana ahead of Washington after the Hoosiers lost EVERYBODY? :eek:
 
Good question and not an easy answer after UCLA. I agree with @TerpWomenFan about Maryland being second. The rest of that list is not clear cut to me.

Ohio State should be top 3 but it's a revamped roster without MacMahon. Transfers like Todd should help, but I'm waiting to see how she plays with Cambridge.

Michigan State will also be a revamped roster with several seniors graduating, including Aryault who was the heart and soul of the team. Michigan loses Hobbs to graduation but retain a core of freshman who are really good and are bringing in another talented class of freshmen.

Minnesota is a dark horse to me because they're getting Braun and Woodson back from injury this year. Oregon is going to look very different as well. Illinois could be going through a rebuilding phase, but I like the potential in Parchment to contribute to the roster as a freshman.

I still need to go through the rosters to get a sense for the rest of the teams. It should be an interesting season regardless.

Pretty good breakdown of the conference here. I've watched every episode of this excellent Big 10 podcast this season. Talia Goodman joins this episode talk portal news. By the way, this was before she knew about Heckel's visit to UConn.

Interesting remark at the 6:00 minute mark about the impact of revenue sharing on the portal. It hadn't occurred to me that the shadow of revenue sharing and the possibility of getting paid in advance for NIL that would be repaid later by revenue sharing.

Also a discussion of the NIL 'market' for players. This part makes it seem pretty seamy in places. Talia mentions that many minor players end up in the portal because the coach has forced them into it.

Glad that this was pointed out during the podcast. The number of athletes in this category could be larger than we think, especially nowadays.

She's stabilized the Minnesota program for sure. While she does have to credit Coach Whalen for the freshman class she inherited (;)), she was the better coach for this roster.
 
Anybody know what happened to assistant coach Jillian Dunston at Michigan? I didn't see anything about her leaving but she's gone and Jordan Reese was just hired as an assistant.

Anxious to see if Swords, Olson & Holloway can drive interest, attendance and TV ratings. Swords is especially entertaining. Michigan could perhaps should be the best and most exciting legacy BIG WBB team this upcoming season.

Michigan is a big brand school with not much WBB history of note. KBA is most successful WBB coach in Michigan history, but attendance is mediocre, and TV ratings lag. Will Go Blue Nation ever embrace WBB? Hope they get behind the current team. Would be good for BIG WBB.

There was a story, roughly around the time of Coach Reese hiring from a local paper, stating that Coach Dunston was stepping away from coaching, for a moment.

Michigan women's basketball has never been a huge draw. Heck our season tickets are only $75 (for a few years we were getting season tickets for $40). Swords and Olson are the focal point of the program and as long as the team is winning, fans will show up. Right now, Michigan is in that middle ground area of the Big Ten.

I do hope that the trio that you mentioned plus any of the returning players as well as the freshmen group, make strides in their games. They are guard heavy and nobody ever mentions that Michigan ran with a 5-guard lineup last year. The whole season. So it is going to be interesting to see what this season brings. I know I will be at as many games as I can attend.

How does the season ticket pricing work? Is this $75 for the season, or for the pair of tickets per game?

$75 per person for the season. Floor seats are also available. $100-$200 for the season. I don't want to get that close to the action.

Comparing season tickets. For Minnesota season tickets. We pay $150-$200 for the season. Just depends on where you want to sit.
