I dont know how to describe what I saw last nite. Dynamic, Explosive, Relentless. WOW. I was plesantly surprised. No I wasnt, I was in Shock. I couldnt believe my eyes. How good is this team? Its tuff to describe until you see them in person. They are scary good. They are scary really really good. They are so good I cant put it into words. There are no weaknesses on this team and the upside is scary.

In the past we posted we can win it all if we dont have any injuries, or if Stef stays out of foul trouble or if we can hit our outside shots or if or if or if. NO More "IFs" This team answers all the doubts. This is the best team Ive every seen in WCBB. This team will be great for a very long time. A little breakdown on the players. All the girls can knock down foul shots, all are complete players with terrific skills, they play as an unselfish team, they can call score and handle the ball and they are one phenominal team. Think about this every player is a go to player??????

Im not going down the list of everybody who played last nite, just what I think are some of questions and players who we didnt know alot about.

Moriah is Sue Bird and Ivory Latta in one. She is a pest on defense, can shoot and will break you legs with her crossover dribble. Causes havoc on defense. The pressure she puts on opposing guards is scary and she can jump. Shes like a pesty gnat and a water bug all in one. She can also lead this team from the point. Will be an AA. One of the best point guards Ive seen on both sides of the ball.

Morgan Tuck. A baby bull that can run like a rabbit. Great outside shot, great inside and very versatile. Shes quiet like a rattlesnake and then she strikes. Awesome good.

Breanna Stewart. Has point guard skills when handleing the ball, unbelievable instincts on Both sides of the ball and can shoot like Diana from deep at 6'4. Great leaping ability Great instincts on both sides of the ball just like Maya and Diana and great around the basket. Geno used her at the high... low and she disrupts outside shooters and blocks shots from up top. She knows when to go down low on penetraters. She knows where she has to be just like Maya. She anticapates and its more of seeing plays develop before they do, then like Superman she is just there. She will be the Greatest Player in WCBB, maybe ever, and thats no hype. BTW her family reads the Boneyard everyday.

Brianna Banks. 7 Steals last night. She is at a whole different level. SHes like a panther awaiting her prey. Think about this BB and MJ at the guards which we saw alot of last nite. They recked havoc on defense. They are so quick and so devastating on defense. Hey guys when you have a high low as big as UConn does, your guards can take chances and last nite we got a taste of it. BB is Really Unbeliveable. You cant describe her defense.

KML Charlie Ferraro called her Machine Gun Lewis and she is. She did everything last nite. I remember Geno yelling at players to rebound, to penetrate to take the open shot. KML does all that. Infact the entire team did all that.

Stef . Shes looking like Twiggy. She is fit and can run the court without struggling. With all our height and great shooters, she will shine this season.

Kiah. Really good outside shot, really good defensively underneath, really good intimadating shotblocker, really good foul shooter, really really improved.

KellyFaris is Kelly. Shes all over the place. Nothing has changed except her shot looks better. Love that girl.

Heather is Heather. Great kid, plays hard. Needs to look for her shot.

When we're blowing out teams there is not scrap time, because we dont have any kids that can come in and let the opponets take a break. We are that good. Our bench is a top 4 team in the polls. This team has everything a complete package. They can all do everything. That are better then good and to say they are relentless is an understatement.

We have a bunch of 1st team All Americans, and a bunch of 2ed and 3rd team AA's this season. Not naming names but I think we could have 4 1st team BE players within the next 2 years. Breanna should be the FOY and POY in the BE and could nationally but Griner will be given that. Breanna is everything we've heard and more.

We did what we did last nite with Bria and CD on the bench. I can only imagine how much better it will be when they are healthly. As I keep saying there are no weaknesses in this team. The upside is ridiculous. Blowouts will happen fast. Opponets have no idea what theyre in for. Intimidation will set in quickly. When UConn plays TAM in Texas on ESPN in a couple of weeks, fans will be in awe. IT is Unfair how good UConn is. Im pretty excited because watching them exceeded my expectations like you cant believe. Yeah they played a D2 team. It was their execution that was great. They didnt run up and down the court making layups. They executed as a team, within the team and within themselves. Michaelangelo couldnt have painted a better masterpiece. Undefeated is not out of the question. Baylor will be their only real test and I think we win that game and could win that game big because of our height Griner will either get in foul trouble or have to back off. I know some of you think reading this think Im to sky high on this team but when you see them all your questions, and doubts will be answered. This is the best team Geno has ever put on the floor.

While Doggydaddy was watching the Cheerleaders I was watching Shea. She looks like a model. Very very pretty. She looks terrific. I said to Charile I would love to go out with her and he said but your married and I said , do you think she goes out with married men and he said No and I said either do I. LOL only kidding but yeah Shea looks really attractive.

That might have been the best post I've ever read on the Boneyard... ever....

Got to love unbridled enthusiasm for what should be a spectacular season.

Hey Tony --

Given the extraordinary talent level of these freshmen, I am really impressed with how conservative and measured your observations are.

We must all be careful to avoid getting Husky Nation too excited. Some of the older folks might have heart attacks -- watching on TV at home, or live at Gampel/XLC. The UConn management should have at least a dozen quick response EMT teams at all the games.

It IS going to be a fun season.

Great post Tony. I have nothing to add to it. But of course I'll try lol...

I'm not sure that Caroline will ever be 100% healthy, but I do hope she can be as healthy as her body will allow. And it wouldn't surprise me to see Geno keep Bria out till the end of December to really let her foot heal. Worst case scenario, red shirt her and really give it a full year to get better. That may not be necessary, but if it's been a nagging injury then maybe it's something to consider. Either way it's a ridiculous team!

I love this team too but at the risk of being called a wet blanket, I would remind folks that IUP is a Division II team that was picked to finish 3rd out of 8 teams in it's division.

That thought also entered my mind, Nan. But, with Geno's comments from recent weeks taken into consideration, I am not sure anyone is overstating the talent on this team.

See what having upperclassmen can do for a team? Anderson has 6 seniors, 3 juniors, 1 soph and 3 freshmen while Clemson has zero seniors, 2 juniors, 6 sophs and 5 freshmen. It also doesn't help when Clemson goes 9-20 at the free throw line.

You know whats scary to think about? Imagine what we saw last night, this team, not just with a healthy Doty and Hartley, but if we had our transfers too? in the world of what if's, how would you defeend Bria, KML, EDD, Stef, and Stewart? I don't think any NCAA team could. Then if we ever needed a stop.. put in Mighty Mo and Kelly? if they somehow got past those two, they'd have to contend with 7'-1", Big Momma, and a 6-5 EDD. Thankfully for the rest of WCBB we don't live in that world. What we have here in the real world, other schools can only dream about.

Nice fantasy, but if EDD had not transferred she would have graduated and used her 4 years! The only reason she is still playing at Delaware us she did not play basketball her 1st year. So this is her 5th year and 4th playing basketball!

Now if you want to think of EDD! If she had not transferred we would have INHO won 4 NCAA championships in a row 2 with Tina and Maya,1 with Maya and we would have beaten Baylor and ND and then Baylor in the NC Finals! She is that good! Add her to last years team with her as a SR and Oh MY!

Folks, I am so enjoying Tony's post! Could we please enjoy what we have in our team right now? Why even mention EDD (may she continue to flourish) or the transfers? It is not like we have a cupboard bare of talent now, or in the last few years. Look forward in reality (Tony's reality works for me!). Coulda, mighta, shoulda time is not now. This season is NOW! The games start for real in a week!

Which is my long winded way of saying to the above posters - onward, please. Not backwards or into Wonderland.

I now go back to rereading Tony's post.

I had forgotten Caroline and EDD are 5th year Sr's. I should know, they came in together with Tiffany. You know what they say, the mind is the second thing to go, Can't remember the first one.

Nan, to show you how much of a wet blanket you are, even I agree with Tony about last night's game. (If you repeat that, I'll say I was misquoted.) But I do have 2 complaints about the game.

1) What a small crowd! No bigger than Thursday's miniscule men's crowd. This team will be wonderful to watch, even in exhibition games. Everyone close to the XL should come to the wednesday game even though the opponent doesn't have a prayer.

2) Why is Geno so adamant about having extremely small squads? Yesterday we were down to 9 healthy players. At least have a walk-on or 2 to play the last few minutes of these incredibly one-sided games. I agree with Geno's reasoning almost all the time, but just on the tiny chance that the second CD and Bria can't start the season, it would seem better to have more than 9 players who can play.

I find myself in the awkward position of disagreeing with Geno and agreeing with huskybill. It's a freekin' nightmare.
