I doubt that someone who was asked to leave would post "once a Husky, always a Husky."

No idea what you mean by "she would not be on the team next year." As a walk-on, no reason she could not have stayed.
Just because she was a walk-on this season, especially when all WBB was in the midst of an unknown pandemic and Geno wanted to have players who were enthusiastic with the Husky beliefs, and Autumn certainly was, does not mean that Geno would have "automatically" asked her to stay. With the new crop of freshman, an incoming transfer, and no experienced players (except Anna) leaving the program, Geno could have had a 1-on-1 talk with his future "Doctor" and told her that, while he definitely appreciated her efforts this past season, he did not see any role for her in 2021-2022.

Autumn is obviously smart. It's to her advantage to part on the best of terms. Why not issue a statement that includes "once a Husky, always a Husky." Other coaches will be contacting Shea, CD and him to determine Autumn's contributions to their teams.

Yes Anything is possible. It is also possible he told her she should try out for Ice Capades.

Unless a player is not keeping up with grades, not following rules, or not trying in practice, there is no evidence that Geno has ever wanted a player not to return. We do not know if any of those were or weren’t an issue. But we do know that UConn has had many players that got few minutes and were not asked to leave.

Maya Nnaji ...5 star forward in WBB...just signed with Arizona Wildcats. Highest-Ranked recruit that school's Women's programs ever signed. The beat goes on.
Nnaji follows her brother, who’s now in the NBA, to AZ.

Once Autumn makes her decision, we'll all be tuned in for Holly Rowe's 1-on-1 in depth interview. ;)

Didn't she play with Paige?
Yes, and she’s very talented. But she’s never been on UConn’s radar, particularly after the Huskies received a commitment from Class of 2023 PF Ice Brady, who’s just a better all-around player than Nnaji.
