Starting PG at LSU next year.Beat me to it. Very interesting. Who knew that non-scholly players had to use the portal, however maybe it's the easiest to put it out there that you want a change. Wondering if she ends up back home?![]()
😎But would she be put on scholarship? I’m sure that’s one of the key factors with her reasoning for hitting the portal in the 1st place. She is an academic so following Shea to Vanderbilt might be another option.
Ivies?May she find a full scholarship at a school where she can get lots of playing time and prepare for medical school.
That’s what I was wondering. Why does a walk on have to use the transfer portal?
I wouldn't think they do but it's one way of letting coaches know you're available without making a bunch of phone calls. Why does a walk on have to use the transfer portal?
Why does a walk on have to use the transfer portal?
Those are great questions - maybe to publicize her desire to leave to see if other programs might reach out to her? Maybe she's not sure where she wants to go and hopes some lower level Div 1 schools will reach out? That’s what I was wondering.
Perhaps because she now has UConn experience on her CV and may now be more "Scholarship-able."Why does a walk on have to use the transfer portal?

Great Medical school. Not sure about their flight school. Now, what will Geno do when he needs a replacement coach to handle the timeouts?
Doesn't Vandy have a top flight Med School?
Good luck young lady, wish you the best..

wherever she lands at least she knows practices are going to be a piece of cake.............Autumn enjoyed her dream of playing at UConn. She spent a year at her dream school being part of an elite program. Those memories will stay with her forever. Things she learned this past year (on and off the court) have become part of her, and make her a better person and player. She's been exposed to the "UConn" way of playing basketball. Something she could not get anywhere else. She's a player, and players want to play! I think everyone here can understand and appreciate that.
Now it's time for her to turn the page and find a place that will give her a "full ride" scholarship, and afford her an opportunity to play meaningful minutes throughout the entire season. No doubt there are lots of potential landing spots that can only use her skills and experience, but would be glad to have her. She'll be fine. There is no doubt she will find that place, and soon. Who knows, maybe Shea will offer her. She certainly knows her well, and what she brings to the table.
Like others here have stated, I too will follow her as she transitions to another program and resumes her dream of playing women's college basketball. Good luck Autumn. It was a pleasure to have you. Needless to say, we wish you all the best. You will always be a Husky.![]()
