You still have to live in Syracuse...
(I remember spending a month there one weekend...)
Let’s all be objective and remember that Storrs is not Miami.

I agree. He'll make $3 million a year. (just because his dad is worth a couple hundred million doesn't mean that money is immediately trickling down to Luke.). And after Duke and Carolina and maybe Virginia there are a ton off beatable teams in the ACC. If he can bring some talent to Syracuse, he can beat up on Boston College, Pitt, Stanford, Cal, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, VA Tech. That's a lot of low hanging fruit.I'll catch some strays for this. I'd be happy to see Syracuse continue to fail, but I think you guys are underestimating the job. The ACC is a legit P5 conference that I'd slot ahead of the Big East simply because the conference pays out a lot more money. Syracuse is still considered a traditional basketball power that's fallen on some hard times and they still had a lot of fans at the Dome until they became a dumpster fire. This isn't a hard program to turn around. They may not compete for national championships annually, but there's no reason they can't be in the top quarter of the ACC regularly. Luke Murray would be crazy not to take that job if offered (I don't think it'll drop to him).
That's the big question but if he has aspirations of being a head coach and was holding out for a high major, it would seem hard to pass it up if he is offered the job. Hurley pays him too much for mid majors to be appealing, but I'm sure Syracuse could outbid Hurley.I saw on the Syracuse board that Luke Murray is a coach SU is considering. I am not sure if they reached out yet. Question for those in the know, is he a great recruiter, can he motivate and develop players? I understand he built UCONN offense but he works under Hurley who seems to be the great motivator. Can Luke do all of the other parts of a head coaching job or is he best served as an asset like Chris Daley?
Syracuse makes Storrs look like Fort Lauderdale.Let’s all be objective and remember that Storrs is not Miami.

Agree that the AD (and Dan Hurley) know that having an all world staff creates an environment of unity and excellence from the top down. It allows us to compete with the power conferences and allows us to "outperform". Something bigger than "me" is "we". Uconn. It lives on as a model now. Loved seeing Rip and Clingan last night at the game. Big pictures on the wall. Relentless. He should probably take it if he gets it, but I do think there is something to be said for happiness. If he is happy now raising his family in CT and keeping things stable for them, he doesn't need it. He makes plenty of money and is the heir to a fortune, so his decision making process might be a bit different than that of most coaches. This staff really seems to enjoy working together and winning titles. The AD has been sure to highly compensate Luke and Kimani and I think they are both well aware they have a good thing going.
Except for Syracuse, who they have a better chance thanI guess Providence really does have as good a chance as any
It's worth it @HooperScooper. Karma is a b**ch.Wow, what a kick to the balls. How the mighty have fallen. I never go on their board but I'm tempted to right now.
Their NIL package, ability to pay a coach, and facilities are miles better than most P4’s trying to also fund football.I guess Providence really does have as good a chance as any
They’re so desperate some would rather hire Luke Murray, someone who has zero HC experience, over most other candidates including GMac.The real funny one would be if Gerry turns them down.
Just spoke with someone very tuned into Providence. Providence is willing to throw 3.5 to 4 million at him. Plus guarantee him 10-12 million in NIL.Their NIL package, ability to pay a coach, and facilities are miles better than most P4’s trying to also fund football.
Let alone fan base is a rabid sleeping giant right now.
Worse. Hodgson I believe has said before that Cuse was his dream job. Means that place is even worse than you’d thinkThis is pretty big blow for Syracuse. The guy is from Western NY. I feel like this is the equivalent of Hurley turning us down for Pitt or staying at URI.
Omg you aren’t kidding. It is so entertaining seeing the posts after news came out that he turned Cuse down. HahahahahaIt's worth it @HooperScooper. Karma is a b**ch.
