August 2019 WNBA Discussions, scores, game info, pictures

There is a person going on a twitter storM against the Sky's coach. No OTHER person was involved but now a club coach has also Jumped in. It has been going ON for at lEaSt 2-3 weeks but not 38 weeks It is a Bold move, IMO..

Ha! Very clever. I've been reading her tweets. She's not one to go off without good reason.

Just watched the Mystics and Fever. At one point the Mystics had a front line of Sanders, Meesseman, and Delle Donne, along with a back court of Cloud and Tolliver. They were quite effective, but even if not, it looks pretty imposing when your 3 and 4 are both 6-5.

Surprised Meesseman is coming off the bench. What is the rationale? To give scoring punch to the second unit? I know Saunders has been pretty good but that good?

Diana gets a technical, and she's not even playing.

LA has so much depth, while Phoenix' offense is struggling with lack of depth.

Seattle's vaunted defense hasn't been up to par lately. Hot start for Dallas, 5-8 behind the arc in Q1 and leading 24-20. Only 2 players have scored for the Storm--13 for Howard and 7 for Clark.

Megan Walker and Sabrina Ionescu sitting next to each other behind the Phoenix bench.
Phoenix getting torched

Dallas up 1 at halftime. Thornton pacing them w/ 12. Canada took over in Q2, a pair of and-1's and a late driving floater to finish out the scoring in the half.

Seattle turned up the D in Q3, held Dallas to only 9 points and got a bunch of steals. Now leading 52-47. Canada is out playing Ogonbowale in the head to head matchup.

edit--wow, Dallas is only 1-9 behind the arc since Q1, but Seattle is 2-15 for the game.

Ogunbowale just tackled Canada as she was driving past her, no attempt whatsoever at going for the ball. That should be more than a common foul.

edit--idiot refs review it and call it a common foul; it wasn't

Abysmal 3 point shooting by Seattle kept this game closer than it should've been, but they pulled away in Q4. Howard w/ a monster game (23 points 11 rebounds 6 freaking steals), Canada had a career high 18 and 6 assists.

Recorded it, watching it now. Camera caught her directing an expletive at someone on the court, not sure who the recipient was though. She said the magic word, ref wasn't having it.

Wiese is looking pretty good on the Sparks. If she makes her threes and handles the ball well enough, she will do very good on that team.

The Lynx are beating the brakes off of the Sun...... but Lexie Brown is scoreless Head bang

Fisher likes her and is giving her an opportunity to show what she can do. That along with the fact that she is also playing good defense and has a very quick release on her shot. Those injuries certainly helped her get court time as well. Many players don't get an opportunity for a variety of reasons. Wiese now has the confidence to play well.

Wow! LA goes from no depth to depth to spare overnight.

Chicago ran out to an 18-2 lead to start the game against Las Vegas. LV closed to within 6 at 1 point. 48-41 at halftime.

Another no show half by Plum, Bill should have kept Moriah.

Chicago wins 87-84. McBride was 3-15 from the floor, 0-6 behind the arc. Waiting for baggerbob's criticism of her showing.

Cambage had a monster game, nice contributions from the bench from Rodgers and T. Young, but balanced scoring for the Sky prevails. Dolson was battling hard w/ Cambage all during the game.

edit--16 points and 13 assists for Sloot. She's already leading the league in assists by a wide margin, today's outing doesn't hurt.

Steph had so many key plays at the end including a key clean tie up of Cambage near end of game to help keep a 1pt lead. :)

Plum not on the court for Aces final play when they needed a 3pt shot to tie.
