Kind of surprised this didn't happen sooner. She was the 4th PG on the depth chart and that's with Sloot playing 30+ minutes per game. Once Faulkner was cleared to play, she had no purpose on the roster.

Hope she does well overseas and can stick on a roster next year.

They told her yesterday, on her birthday. Nice timing.

Riquna Williams returns from her 10 game suspension and is starting for the Sparks tonight. Back to the bench again for Wiese.

McCowan and Burke are both starting for the Fever.

Indiana is pounding the ball into McCowan every possession to start. Might see more of Vadeeva or maybe the lately M.I.A. Kalani Brown to counter her size.

Brown-McCowan would be fun to watch. Wanted to see more of that in college.

Brown checked in just as McCowan was leaving late in Q1. Finally had both of them on the floor in Q2 and McCowan immediately picked up her 3rd foul. She'll be sitting til the 2nd half now.

Indiana was up 8 early but LA came back to briefly grab the lead. It's mostly been the bench getting it done for them. Chiney having her best game in a long time. LA has had some horrible live ball turnovers.

Chilly shooting for both teams but LA got a pair of 3's in the closing seconds of the half to go up 43-31. 29-13 advantage in Q2. Nneka leading the way w/ 11 points and 7 rebounds, Chiney and Ruffin-Pratt both have 8. Dupree leading Indiana w/ 10, McCowan and Tiffany Mitchell both have 6.

Both teams sub 40% shooting, LA is 3-11 behind the arc and Indiana is 0-8. LA is plus 10 on the boards, including 8-0 in O boards (Nneka has 5 of those).

If anyone is watching this (on CBSSN) and saw a commercial for jerky with some guys x-country skiing and a mountain in the background--if you wonder where that was I got ya covered. South side of Mt. Hood. At first I was thinking around the White River Sno Park area, but looking at some pics now I'm thinking Newton Creek. You're welcome.

It's hard to believe this game was close for most of the 1st half. Sparks up 23 halfway thru Q3.

LA has outscored Indiana 56-24 in Q2 and Q3. Ouch.

 Vadeeva just went coast to coast for a layup. Haven't see that before.

Mabrey just entering the game for the first time w/ 6:30 left and the Sparks up 30. I think LA has everybody healthy and available for the first time this season.

Jeez, it's a foul fest at the end of the game w/ a 30+ margin. 3 in about the last 10 seconds. Both teams in the bonus. Why?

98-65 final, 6 in double figures for LA and Parker and Vadeeva both 1 bucket shy of joining the crowd.

LA improves to 17-10. Are they in the same strata as Washington, Connecticut and Las Vegas?

If you look at Net Rating, it's pretty clearly Washington and then everybody else. But strange things can happen in a short series.

The playoff should be pretty interesting now that we have:
  • A'ja Wilson back
  • Sparks fully healthy
  • Taurasi back
Also, note the clear stratification between playoff teams and lottery teams. The bottom 4 really earned their status this year.

Atlanta Dream also edged the Liberty 90-87. Nurse was kind of a now show with 7 points on 3-6 shooting and she was -15. Charles struggled percentage-wise, 15 points on 29.4%, with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Tiff and Renee had 19 and 18 points respectively.

Chicago beat Washington. Mystics and Sun tied again atop the league standing. 1-5 are packed fairly close together, then another grouping at 6-8...then the bottom 4. I don't think there's much drama about any of those bottom teams sneaking in to grab the final playoff spot, would take a miracle for that to happen.

Normally do not mention referee debacles but a phantom call on Bria Hartley which may have cost them the game was one of the worst I have ever seen. On the other hand,. I have turned the corner and rooting for better draft position.

I think Vandersloot is now 18 assists away from breaking her own league record for single season total, w/ 6 games left.

Yeah, she is gonna smash the record. Such an under the radar superstar.

Possibly my favorite player in any sport right now. She is a joy to watch.
