In all seriousness, I think the poll basically reflects what everyone is thinking -- that's its basically South Carolina or UConn's to lose with an outside shot of Stanford winning it all. It's crazy that we could potentially play each other 3 times this season!

Preseason polls are estimates based on the quality of players returning, the expectations of the new prospects, the coach, the team history and popularity. As soon as the season is underway, much of the hype is gone and the rankings change.

Mostly as I thought, although I have both Indiana and Iowa above Baylor, Georgia at 24 with S.Florida at #26.

They change, but basically use the same criteria. For example, certain teams can lose 2 or 3 games and still receive a high ranking.

Throw the top three in a bag. Shake well. Se what order they fall out in . . . though I would still give my vote to the defending champ
Same. Once the games start will have a better idea of where the teams stand this year. But given that it’s fairly close, I think I’d be inclined to give first place to the reigning champs.

Looking forward to playing you guys this year. I have a lot of admiration for all that Dawn has done for the Gamecocks.

This is about what I thought they would be although I would have Stanford at 1 because they’re defending champs. But also, how isn’t Georgia ranked????
Well, Texas 25, UGA with the next-most votes. It will work out as it works out. According to Massey, Texas has the 14th best schedule, Georgia is 56. Plus, the Vic factor weighs heavily.

Baylor at 7? If they end up there, it will be some fine coaching.

I hope we play three times - including the very last game!

Oregon State is #14?
They were 12-8 last year and lost Goodman to graduation and Freshman Goforth(Pac12 1st team freshman) to Arkansas.
Too high, IMO

and of course..........why are there no votes for Cal Baptist?? Polls are stupid to not include them. Heck, Belmont got 5 votes. I understand "Belmont" has a lot of "horsepower" on their team.
