I agree with notadime. Dan Hurley wants to win a national championship and the guys leaving were not going to get us one. Especially if they are not going to fight for playing time
Depends on how guard situation unfolds. If we bring in someone plug and play (we've seen it done before all over the place, literally in this last tournament), all good with building around that player and (gulp): Hawkins, Jackson, Karaban, Samson, Sanogo, Clingan. If new guys as advertised.

I think it was fair to wonder about Hurley a little bit given the mass exodus of players. I don’t think anyone was calling for his firing, but the normal reaction is “what the heck is going on?”
Still, it’s a good school in a D1 program. That would be a great landing spot for him.
Which raises the question, what does “recruited over“ actually mean? Is bringing in a kid in at your position in a subsequent class “recruiting over“ him? to the extend I think about it at all, I view recruiting over someone meaning continuing to recruit a players position in the same class year after he’s committed.
2 role players, both of whom had hit their ceiling, a freshman who looked like he was playing above his level (hence why he's going to UMass/URI) and a player who hasn't played 1 second of D1 basketball isn't what I'd call a "mass exodus." LSU is a "mass exodus."

I like Hurley and want to see him succeed, but he never should have let Corey Floyd transfer. That one hurts the most from a productivity standpoint.
Big fan of Akok also and I find it a bit concerning on how Hurley handled him on his return back from his injury. What does that say to incoming recruits? Don't get injured cause you will not see much playing time after that. He was highly recruited by UConn and other major programs and really was never given enough time to get back to pre-injury form. I was crucified a while back when I indicated that Akok did not have the same enthusiasm as when he was a freshman. I would like to see coach Hurley handle his young players better than he has and also he needs to re evaluate his coaching style. I will also watch and root for Akok.
