I did my fair share of complaining in the game chat. And I do think at times we didn’t look great on either side of the ball.

But the defense did come up with some huge stops — especially that one long drive where they stopped Air Force on 4th down a few yards from the endzone. So props to them for this.

Major kudos to Cam Edwards and Skylar Bell. Absolute beasts. Balled out big time.

I’m sad there’s only one more game left before bowling!

It's really hard for me to complain after the down years. But in game chat I'm an emotional wreck. That said there were some good results today imo and as long as we win the train keeps rolling. We have some really special players to watch on this team and outside of the Syracuse debacle its been fun.

Well said, there is something to be said about Edwards, a guy with one D1 offer, recruited as a DB, becoming the best RB we have had in quite some time and a big part of the team coming back to relevance.

I saw Cam play multiple times in HS and he was on the field all the time. It just seemed odd he was shuffled to DB when he got here. Fortunately for us he was shifted to RB out of necessity and took advantage of it. Coaches got lucky there.

Definitely colder today but it was a good follow up crowd. Sun side lower and upper stands were mostly filled as was the end near score board. Student section was a major disappointment after last week’s win. Sparse would be giving them too much credit and shame on them for that. Game came as advertised- offered a nice blend of speed and power with their running game. After an initial solid opening drive, UConn offense looked to be suffering from slight hangover from last week. Credit to the coaching staff at half time for righting the ship. Offense came out angry. Fagnano also made a couple of very nice touch throws. D cam up big to stop the two point conversion. Finally, both teams with impressive long drives all game. Clock was just flying the entire game. Nice to be standing at the game’s conclusion to celebrate this historic home season. Double Mora’s salary immediately.

Today's win was a gritty gut check. No matter who the coach is we cannot stop the option. The only time we did Obi Melifonwu had like 23 tackles against Army. Its like you need one super special athletic freak that can roam freely with the wingspan of a condor.

That said the defense got 2 turnover on downs despite getting absolutely shredded all half. 2nd half they got a solid taste of their own medicine with Cam acting like a bowling ball chewing up clock for us with a lead churning out 1st downs.

That was a nightmare match up for us coming off a huge emotional win and playing against scheme that always gives us fits.

This was a heck of a pylon touch by JoeF on our 1st TD. Great effort. (He grazed it with his right hand holding the ball but that's all it took.)

I feel like Air Force wore themselves down with a 12 minute drive and couldn't recover. The QB injury was a killer for them too

Announced attendance was 31,457 and it seemed fairly accurate to me looking around at peak time (late 1st qtr).

Some sections looked empty, but it was pretty cold and a lot of people were on either the sunny side of the Rent or moving around the concourse.

I'm glad people are coming back to the Rent. I hope it isn't a mirage. 6-0 at home is great. Love the vibe....

Kudos to the D for knocking the QB out with a clean hard hit. I think he broke his hand.

I think we will long for a 9-3 record next year. We are going to rebuild next year. Can't wait to see the signees we get and the Transfers during the off-season. I love how Jim Mora got UConn into the press!

Who'll be the QB next year??
No rebuild. Just a reload. That’s the beauty of the portal.

I’d expect Evers or McDonald to start. Ferrar looks good too. Plus we could always add someone. There will be options.

Need to bring in a really talented passer from the portal. Someone just slotted behind a fixture at a bigger program.

I don't think we have our 2026 QB yet. Evers would be a huge step backwards.
I don’t disagree - I definitely have reservations about Evers. I think it’s important to remember that last year he arrived after spring camp, so he only had the fall camp to prepare. Come next season (if he’s still here) he will have had two full offseasons to learn and prepare.

Need to get a good passer from portal. Can't go back to a run first team since the offense will stagnate and scoring will fall off.

Not too long ago in the abyss of 2016-2021 a season like this seemed like an impossibility.

Just look at our "friends" up north in Amherst. I am not trying to throw shade at UMass- I genuinely feel bad for them because we know what that is like.
Don't feel sorry for them at all. Remember they compete with UConn in recruiting. Not sure NE can support UConn, BC & UMass. Liked it better when Mass was an FCS program.

Yes good job breaking someone’s hand. I do not wish for injuries.
Yeah I didn't wish for it to happen. It just happened. Dude was punishing the D on every run and he got punished on 1 run. I don't know that it was broken, but knocking him out the game worked to our advantage just like Vincent Jackson getting knocked out the game worked out to their advantage. Its football. Only way to avoid injuries in FB is to not play it.

Let’s not forget - Fagnano was a benchwarmer until he wasn’t. People were done with him after less than two games of work in 2023. Now look where we are. And fwiw being a benchwarmer behind Joe isn’t anything to be ashamed of.
Nah. I said last week this dude had a 1900 yd season at Maine and had productive games against BC and UMass on tape.

If im gonna bring in another P5 back up with no game experience I'd rather rock with Evers. He has shown ability in games. All he needs is slight improvement in his accuracy and he could be really effective.
