I did my fair share of complaining in the game chat. And I do think at times we didn’t look great on either side of the ball.

But the defense did come up with some huge stops — especially that one long drive where they stopped Air Force on 4th down a few yards from the endzone. So props to them for this.

Major kudos to Cam Edwards and Skylar Bell. Absolute beasts. Balled out big time.

I’m sad there’s only one more game left before bowling!

Great win UConn!! It started shaky and looked like they were going to die a slow death from a 1,000 paper cuts, but the defense stood strong and allowed the offense to come alive in the 2nd half. Edwards is the MVP and a straight up tuff dawg!

Going a perfect 6-0 at home is great. Opponents can win at Clemson's Death Valley, but the Rent is a whole other thing.

Falcons for lunch, and let's have Cougars for dinner tonight. Sounds like a perfect Saturday!!

This is a game you just hope they survive. Coming off an emotional win against Duke and lots of positive press this week. They were set up for a let down.

The first half was frustrating. But they weren’t giving up points. It was great to see them turn to the running game in the second half….honestly I thought they should have done it earlier…even if just to give the defense a rest.

But…they really gutted it out in the second half. Passing game was just good enough..defense was just good enough…but the running game won this game. Kudos to the offensive line and Edwards.

Undefeated at home this year…thank you to the fans who turned out and I am glad you were rewarded with an undefeated season. Thanks also to the seniors…you made this season special.


Let’s close out strong next week at FAU!!!

I am concerned about that, too. Plus, the last game is on the road as UConn's 3-game homestand is over. They won't have the energy of the home crowd to energize them and help them mentally to fight through the physical attrition they have endured the last 2 weeks.

I predicted before the game they would run it on us, but we would throw it on them at will and Cam would have a huge day as well. Looks like I got 2/3 correct lol. Joe seemed off today, I wonder if he is banged up a little from the Duke game. He did take a number of shots, especially on that 2pt that sealed the W. I definitely did not expect him to have his worst passing numbers of the season against one of the worst passing defenses. College football for ya, folks!

Loved seeing Cam go off today, was nice to see him get back to form. Also ecstatic he hit his goal of a 1000 yard season! Dude is a warrior, a beast and deserves the personal success he has had this season. My gut tells me he will be back next year, he seems to love repping Connecticut. But even if he moves on with Bell and Fagnano departing, I will always appreciate him for helping revive this program. He's not just a great player, he seems to have a great attitude. Just an easy dude to root for.

I thought the D was going to get destroyed early on in the game. But "bend don't break" seemed to be the motto today. We gave up a ton of yards and they controlled time of possession, but when they got into the red zone it felt like we tightened up and stopped them more often than not.

Happy the seniors got a W in their final game at The Rent. Undefeated season at home! Feels damn good. Let's take care of business next week @FAU and hope we get a really nice bowl as a reward for a great season!

Well said, there is something to be said about Edwards, a guy with one D1 offer, recruited as a DB, becoming the best RB we have had in quite some time and a big part of the team coming back to relevance.
 
I was worried that Air Force would run it down UConn’s throats all game. They got their yards but we got the win after D improved.

Joe seemed off today. He may be injured and sorry to see he gave up his first official INT this season. It could have been worse as Bell prevented another INT and possible pick six with an incredible catch.

Give Cam the game ball for his tremendous effort. I still find it hard to believe that he started his UConn career as DB.

Now finish strong at FAU to maximize the bowling opportunities.

Ok a win is a win. That said, be cognizant of the moment. Sammis screwed both Fagnano and Bell with absolute crap play calling never giving these guys a chance. What an utter fool. He won the game and lost the national story. So pissed.
 
Like @HCCForever, I wish Fagnano was able to keep up his INT-less season, but today he didn't need to sling it to win it, Cam proved to be power today. Eight wins and perfect at home...what a season!!!!!!!! Gotta heal for next week, get prepped for FAU, and see if we can get double digit wins for the season. Let's go UConn!!!!!!!!

Edit: just listened to Mora's post game presser. The defense opted for a 4-3-4 for Air Force today and limited them to less than half their usual score. That's a big adaptation. They can run, but we did more with our run game today.

Cheap way to lose the int-less season.
 
Gonna be a great Thanksgiving this year. We all have a lot to be thankful for. Hoping for either Fenway again or Pinstripes. One more hurdle to get there though

Oh, the game. Well, the D was marginally better than expected and got just enough stops. They could not stop the fullback up the middle unless by committee of almost everyone on the field. And if Air Force had a passing game UConn might have been in real trouble. But they bent and did not break

The O was more than marginally worse than expected. It wasn't until the second half when Sammis realized they could gain first downs on the ground that UConn started to put the game away. Gosh, the Huskies' running backs make your jaw drop with their speed, quickness and moves, don't they? Yup, UConn had Cam Edwards and Air Force did not. Not to mention the other running backs.

One day to savor, and then get ready for that trip South.
