Eh. Those guys all got way better while in Pros
For sure, but at some point it stops being a coincidence why. Cal’s guys go in ready to produce and have an impact. As much as we hate to admit it.

Now UNC, I’m not sure why top recruits keep going there for their career to die. Bust rate is so high lol

I don’t think anyone’s saying it’s a coincidence, and I am far from a Cal hater, but it’s laughable to give him credit for “developing” these guys. Thank god Anthony Davis went to UK - otherwise he’d probably be selling insurance right now.

Even if you want to remove Anthony Davis, how do you explain Booker, Herro, SGA, Quickley, etc.? Guys who were outside the top 20 or who weren’t genetically superior. Jamal Murray is not some super athlete and he was one of the best players in the playoffs.

Like yeah, there’s some guys that were just that good like Wall, David, and Boogie but there’s also guys who don’t have better measurables than a Bouknight or Hawkins making a huge impact or becoming stars.

None of them, even the role players, aren’t just three point specialists either making their living being floor spacers. Lol

I mean Booker, Fox, SGA, Quickley, Maxey, and Murray were all 5* recruits. Some weren't top 10, but all were top 25 aside from Herro, but he was still was top 40.

All of those guys were top 30-40 recruits, and a lot of them were 5 star recruits. Just with a simple law of averages, when you bring in 4-5 guys like that you're going to hit on some of them being big time NBA players.

Using Herro and Quickly as an example since they were the same class. Those 2 guys developed really well, same with Keldon Johnson from that class. But the 2 highest recruits were Ashton Hagans and EJ Montgomery who did nothing

If it was that easy to produce all stars UNC would’ve at least had one all star since I don’t even know when and Kansas would have a lot more than just Joel Embiid with the talent they get.

No matter what if you’re a top recruit and you say to them “Cal’s players only do well because they were highly ranked” wouldn’t that high ranked recruit think he can do the same then?

He’s at minimum putting busts in the lottery.

Right now DH and staff have demonstrated to enough recruits that we are a top echelon program. A couple of more seasons of this and more 5 stars will look this way. The record will speak for itself as well as will the draft picks. It was really enjoyable being unranked and then coming out of that mid year slump and roaring to the NC. The whole college basketball universe saw that jaw dropping performance. Now just have to keep it going. I think they have a winning formula from top to bottom.

I'm not sure how coaching staffs balance/juggle recruits at the same position but I would say if Nowell hints at a commitment on this visit the staff would have to accept that right away instead of trying to play games and wait on Fland right? It appears that Flands recruitment is moving slower and would be risky to try and wait.

I would be happier with a Nowell in the hand over a Fland in the bush if you will.

I completely trust Hurley. I know boring to say. Didn't trust him at all until the month after losing streak. Everything changed for the better. That is hard to do. I assume when a kid visits us he is coming. Why would he not outside of money? We have easily top 5 coaching group in country. Our coaches are just good at what they do. I assume they bring kids in for visits that there is serious mutual interest.
