ACC Did Permanent Damage

So says the ND AD! Wow how the mighty have been taken down. For those who think we should join the ACC think twice about what might happen to both our bball programs. Never mind football

This is a non sequitur (he was saying the relationship between ND and the ACC was damaged by the conference favoring Miami over ND—zero relation to basketball) and completely irrelevant vis-a-vis UConn if it were to become a full member.

Our basketball program would be fine in the ACC. The concern with the ACC is its long term viability.

While the ACC network was replaying the ND-Miami game last weekend, the ND GM should have been pushing the network to air Rudy! Damn good movie.Who could say no to a ND invite after watching that movie.

Ah yeah. 4 ranked teams versus 2, 7 projected bids versus 3. Average of the 5 power conference leagues as of last week:

SEC. 54.18
Big 12 60.18
ACC 64.05
Big Ten 69.30
Big East 73.00

The ACC has sucked for a while, and this, the ACC’s best season since 2018 or so, puts the league at 4th best.

You are on to something here.🤣

The BE has also sucked for awhile outside of UConn. And That ranking shows the ACC in third not fourth... all I said was the The ACC is having a better season than the BE and it’s not debatable, so what are you onto?

In 2023 Big East had three teams in sweet sixteen and two in elite eight.
That was 4 seasons ago, that’s awhile in my book. Which fanbases outside of UConn have a reason for optimism?

For those who have no idea what this is about.

I still don’t know what this is about. Notre Dame didn’t get their way, so what?

I have some weird fantasy where they leave the ACC and bring UConn along to the Big10. But that's just me 😁.
I mean that would be the best for the big 10, no? They get a leading football program and a leading basketball program (with a growing football program)

That would also make it 20 teams

And the year after 2024 everyone knows the Big East got royally screwed. Instead of getting the 5 or 6 bids they should've gotten they only got three bids. All three made the sweet 16 and they had the national champion.

CFP are dumb and has watered down the sport.

The regular season doesn't mean much now and the thing that gets the most attention is a damn 12 seed snub.

During any normal time Indiana beating OSU for the Big Ten championship would've been an all-time moment. Now it doesn't matter because OSU still gets another crack at winning the national title anyways. Not only that, the Heisman race sucks.

College sports has just been in the gutter.

So you preferred when Auburn went undefeated and missed the BCS Championship because USC and Texas went undefeated as well? Clearly arguing over the 12th team is better than that situation.

ND needs to join a football conference if they don't want this situation. You can't penalize Alabama for making the SEC championship game.

College football is quite a joke don't get me wrong but it has more to do with the transfer portal and NIL than the playoff.

Notre Dame not playing in a bowl game shows a total lack of respect for the game of college football.... Booohooo.

To be fair, they did just get absolutely screwed by the cartel. Alabama not dropping after their last month of poor play and a bad loss in the SEC title game, like every other conference title game loser ever, is ridiculous.

True, but they still should have manned up.

Yes. That was a much better conversation to have than ND throwing a tantrum over the 12th seed. It also made the outside bowl games more meaningful.

Outside bowl games mean absolute squat now. The most they should've extended it to was 8. 4 was fine. 12 is overkill and has made things meaningless.
