ACC Big East merger

Absolute gem I spotted on the Celtics subreddit

Worthwhile for what? Context please. The humor can’t be appreciated fully.
literally just Sam Cassell being a HC candidate for FSU.

"he would be perfect for UConn as Dan Hurley is about to get fired per the imaginary intelligence ops BC has inside UConn!"

This comparison isn't wrong, just 10 years too early. The BE will succumb to the way of the A10 soon enough
A10 1996 and BE right now would be a little unfair but time could prove this correct

we should drop Xavier for Dayton
Now there’s an idea. Join up with the A-10 in a promotion/relegation scheme.

Last year we would have relegated DePaul, Georgetown, and Xavier for Loyola, Richmond, and Dayton.

I am obviously being facetious here but the cool nickname thing holds as we would get Ramblers, Spiders, and Flyers.

From what I hear, it’s Billy Curley posing as a janitor. When he’s not mopping, he’s writing code for AI and stealing girlfriends, asking ex BFs how they like dem apples.

That is Not true. He is a BC grad. He isn’t qualified to work as a janitor!!!

So UConn is going to fire Dan Hurley and he will go to BC? If anyone saw the BC-ND game last night at Conte, this would be even more hilarious. How they are thrown out of the ACC is incomprehensible. No one could resurrect that program.

I genuinely would rather add UMass or URI to the Big East before St Louis. I could be talked into Memphis or Dayton depending on the money I suppose but would rather keep the double round robin.

I would tend to agree on UMass or URI. Both have higher potential. As for the double round robin, well it’s quaint. But for an extra $2.95 they would drop it in a heartbeat.

The point of this expansion talk was to develop some consistency in makeup, to brand off of. In this case the biggest Catholics/Jesuits.

UConn grandfathered in and hopefully temporary.

Once you start going URI and Umass the conference starts looking like Frankenstein. Sounds nice for the UConn travel schedule only.

I like Xavier. They invest in basketball and they have consistently tough teams.
If you're dropping anyone it's Depaul.

Xavier at least has a pulse.
Keep Xavier. We don't want to lose the top basketball program in Ohio. Adding Dayton, the 2nd best, is tempting. Swapping Loyola for DePaul may have merit. It's too bad Duquesne sucks because the Pitt market would fill a gap.

When the ACC implodes, grab Boston College, Pitt, and Syracuse. Set up a 4-team football conference (Syracuse, Pitt, UConn, BC) with home/homes so you get 6 conference and 6 OOC games.

14 team basketball conference with East/West divisions. Round robin inter-division then select rivalry out of division games.

West: Syracuse, Pitt, Creighton, Marquette, Butler, DePaul, Xavier
East: UConn, BC, Providence, Seton Hall, St John’s, Georgetown, Villanova
