ACC Big East merger

Not a Pitt fan, either. Sorry. "Rabbit in Red" is the name of the strip club Michael's mom dances at in Rob Zombie's Halloween movie and I shortened it for a handle cause I like Rob Zombie. The 84, obviously, is the year I was born.

Watching you guys wildly extrapolate and assume that I'm embarrassed, when I've made clear that isn't the reasoning, is humorous... But.. I'd really like to get back on topic now.

Why don't you just say if the team you root for is from the P2, P4, or G5? That should satisfy them, and keep your allegiance protected.

Or Indy : )

Oh, we've heard you say that, but it kind of seems like you are. It's OK. You're safe here. You can come out of the closet.

At this point, I think you know as well as I do it won't.

puke has to travel to boston as a 24 point favorite tonight for an ACC game. ooph. they'd be better off scheduling bryant as part of their tough ooc schedule.

Not that it means much but my ex-wife was high school classmates with Rob Zombie (not his real name).

I'm curious as to who in your opinion makes the best ice cream.

Now I remember. Turns out Mr. Zombie likes his peace & quiet in Woodbury CT. Maybe Red is Zombie. Zombie is Red.

.-.
With the “y’all” in an earlier post, that does not scream BC. With “Red” in your name, I’m thinking NC State. Virginia Tech is more maroon than red, but the fan forum always has lots of good conference realignment talk. The only other schools that come to mind are possibly Houston or Alabama.

OK, now I’m getting a little too obsessed.

Ignore that. He just threw that in there to throw you off.

I’m thinking a Providence fan because they’re red with embarrassment for that program

.-.
Good question, but it was suggested that I might be. I'm not. I'm just not wanting to make this about my team. I'm here for realignment talk. The obsession at this point is sort of proving my point...
Your unwillingness to just name your affiliation, true or false, is going to make any discussion you hope to have here be primarily about fielding questions about said affiliation.

You realize how incredibly dumb that is, right? Just so we're on the same page...

It's as if you have never been on any fan message board in general before, and the boneyard in particular. It is what it is.

I mean, I have. I've just never seen this level of dumb obsession. I've stated why, and y'all are still going off the rails. Ridiculous. I was just trying to talk realignment.

There is one part of this equation that you are not considering:

For decades people have come onto thos board (or one of its predecessors) claiming to be here in peace, but with an agenda to point out why they believe we don't warrant the status we believe we deserve deserve. You may well be genuine in your goal, but we have no way of knowing if this is truly the case.

If you were to be forthcoming enough to let us know where your loyalties lie it would be much easier for you to be trusted, at least at a surface level.

So.... what team do you root for?

I just want to know in case I run into you at Rensselaer Stadium...

Look man, I can't help what others have done in the past for one. Secondly, frankly it's not my problem. Third, knowing who I root for won't change any of it anyhow. I've been honest that I'm not a UConn fan. I've been honest that I have no real skin in the game and don't care if you're left out or not. Hell, I've been honest that I've cheered AGAINST UConn in realignment in the past and gotten a chuckle from it.

If I wanted to troll, I'd just troll. But I haven't done that, and I'm not interested in doing that. I genuinely think the time is finally coming, sooner rather than later, that UConn gets into the big scene. I think there's a growing focus on basketball that highly favors you guys.

Can we just ignore the interloper, as he shouldn't be what is talked about, period

.-.
Oh we're on the same team. What team was that again?
Speaking of teams, there's only 2 teams that matter now: 1) Team Serenity Now that knows the merger has no chance happening cuz they live in the real world and see the ACC will exclude us until the day they implode, and 2)Team Cray Cray who thinks the merger will happen cuz they left reality a long long time ago, like when BCU was actually good in something other than hockey.

A merger of some form makes sense because it would be a major content dump for the ACC Network, put it in new markets, and the money would be at least as good as what the Big East is currently making.

Whether that means a full merger, or some form of TV and scheduling agreement, I don't know. Regardless, I think it'll be good news for UConn and UConn football.

Put me on team serenity now, though, I wouldn't say that there's no chance, just no likely chance.

We welcome all fans to the boneyard who come in good faith. I am 99% certain RR4 is a fan of bcu, cuse or louisville. bcu and cuse incorrectly believed they would have the upper hand and enjoyed watching UConn get left behind. It never made sense to me but that's what many believed. louisville got the last ticket instead of UConn so those fans were thrilled. I'm not sure any other fan base would have cared to keep UConn down as long as their program made the cut.

There is a 3rd team between serenity now and cray cray - purgatory. I don't expect a miracle but I still check CR every day. As long as the ACC continues to make really boneheaded moves there is a chance it finally makes a good one. It can't uninvite cuse and pitt but it can bring along the members that helped make them successful in the Big East: UConn, nova, georgetown, st. john's.

I could be wrong, but when the Big East had football, wasn't the big wedge pitting football schools vs non football schools lead to the destruction of the Big East and losing the P status. How would a Big East/ ACC Merger be different? I get decoupling football/basketball deals, if that would be the intention.
Maybe I just remember it different or forgot some of the details.

ACC destroyed the Big East. A merger would make them partners. Problem solved.
