I know we are having fun with this and I assumed the locations were already set in stone. I was surprised to see that 2026 is TBD.

Jackie Carson, the ACC’s Senior Associate Commissioner for Women’s Basketball said that ACC coaches have long pushed for the tournament to rotate between different venues, similar to the men’s ACC Tournament, which has been hosted in cities like Charlotte, Brooklyn, Washington D.C., and Atlanta over the past two decades. The same article listed these possibilities:

Gas South Arena (Duluth, Georgia) – Located in the Atlanta suburbs
KFC Yum! Center (Louisville, Kentucky)
VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena (Jacksonville, Florida)
GreenCity Arena (Richmond, Virginia)—This brand–new arena
Greensboro Coliseum

My thoughts are Louisville would be objected to by many. As innovative as the ACC is (NOT) it will be in Greensboro.

I am with Triad on this. Atlanta is SEC country. Really don’t see GT bringing the fans and I guess I’m skeptical large contingents of fans will book flights and take off work for multiple days to fly in to ATL. Doubt FSU and Clemson fans are going to drive up in droves either.

Just feels like it would I’ll be heavily reliant on the general public being interested in college women’s basketball and while it’s growing in popularity I don’t see it being heavily attended. But I could be wrong.

Greensboro is right there for 4 charter schools and 3 of which have a pretty solid following and are generally good which makes for people in the stands.

The men’s tournament does ok in DC and ATL, better in Greensboro and Charlotte and was not well attended at all in Brooklyn. It sucks for the further away schools but the most passion for the conference is in NC, Va and SC. Get further away from the heart and attendance will dwindle IMO.

And it just adds spice to the event when Duke, UNC and NC State all have solid teams at the same time.
 
The last time I remember hearing someone claiming the ACC ran through them was a young man by the name of Armando Bacot. Less than week later DJ Burns ran right through him and walked away with that elusive banner Bacot never quite could capture during his long tenure in Chapel Hill.

And now Kevin Keatts has entered the portal himself.

Things change fast! I think I’ll go watch a replay of last years ACC tournament and final four run and ignore this years men’s tournament :).
 
Something that doesn't seem right to me when it comes to ACC conversations: Nell Fortner was largely praised for a 9-9 ACC record while Megan Duffy was largely criticized for a 9-9 ACC record. What am I missing?

Megan took over a shell of a program, while Nell has been at GaTech building for a while........

I predicted Duke to win the ACC tournament last summer (and I have receipts :cool:) and I thought we could make it to a Regional Final but not a Final 4. We are playing with house money tomorrow.... we will see how it turns out. Either way.... it's been an enjoyable ride.
 
The last time that the ACC didn't have an NCAAT Final Four participant was 2021 (unless we've acquired Stanford's history).
 
Disappointing for the conference.

Overall I think the conference did well this season, Duke, State, Notre Dame all had their moments in the sun and are top 10ish teams UNC not far behind. FSU proved to be a top 25 type squad and GT and Cal had some bright moments early in the season and were solid and Louisville proved to be a solid team by years end.

But while the conference had several good to very good teams, no one really can lay claim to being elite. If Duke had made the F4 or didn’t hit that skid late in the year perhaps they could lay claim. ND looked like they were it for sure, and then the wheels came off in a big way. If State made the F4 or beat Duke in the ACCT they’d maybe be in that tier. Ultimately a good season for the conference but lacking that dominant power.
 
Taina Mair’s post season play was subpar. I kept waiting for her to snap out of it and she never did. (She also hit this same post season slump last year) Which was why a few weeks ago I mentioned Duke needed an elite point guard but so many disagreed. I still believe Emilee Skinner will be a game changer for them.

Oh wow! Did NOT see this coming. Nell's a legend in the game, having won COY in three power conferences (Big Ten, SEC, and ACC).

If there's a sliver of hope, I guess we can point out that their best player (Dunn) still hasn't entered.

Indeed she has!

I'd take her and Kate Koval for Duke and would be happy as a lark. That said, both could be headed to SEC schools.
